Opaque material: absorb or reflect all the light so they apper to be solid and light cannot go through them, you can't see through them.
Transparent: allows all light through the object, you can see through them. Translucent: some light can through the objects, you can see through but not clearly. Like wax paper. Pigment: colored material that absorbs some colors and reflect others

Additive colors: when all of the λ are added together they produce white light. White light (like from the sun or a light bulb) can be separated into all the λ of all the colors. A white shirt reflects all color λ and a black shirt would absorb all color λ. Subtractive colors: when all colored material (like paint) are added together they produce black material. 7
