(+47) 23 08 49 00 [email protected] http://www.amboslo.esteri.it/ambasciata_oslo/it/ The Roadshow is organized by the Italian Embassy and several Norwegian and Italian partners to maximize the positive momentum of the bilateral relations -Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja paid a State visit to Italy in April last year- and to highlight the excellent cooperation existing between Italy and Norway in the political, economic and cultural areas. The Roadshow includes some fifty events (lectures, readings, concerts, exhibitions, guided tours, cuisine tastings) and will have six Norwegian stops (Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen, Bodø, Røst and Stavanger). The Oslo leg was concluded in October last year. The Trondheim leg will run from 31 January to the end of April 2017. Trondheim has been chosen because of its historical importance, economic dimension, vibrant social and cultural life, international renowned research and university institutions, and also for the contribution of the local Italian community. Introduction by Roberto Damonte, Consorzio Vini Piemonte (Piedmont Wine Producers Association). “Taking Norway to the top of EU science: the Italian contribution” • Wednesday 15 February 2017 – NTNU Gløshaugen (Sentralbygg 1, Auditorium S1) Seminar by Chiara Bertolin, Associate Professor at the NTNU Department of Architecture and Technology and the Department of Language and Literature, and Nicola Paltrinieri, Associate Professor at the NTNU Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. “Pilgrims in Europe: Norwegian and Italian historical routes” • Thursday 16 February 2017 – Visitors’ Center Nidaros Cathedral Conference by Øivind Østang on his pilgrim journey from Oslo to Rome. Introduction by Steinar Bjerkestrand, Director General of the Nidaros Cathedral Restoration Center, and Hans Morten Løvrød, Director of the National Pilgrims’Center. “Giuseppe Tartini: the mysteries of a musical genius” • Wednesday 1 March 2017 – Herresalen (Archbishop’s palace) (tbc) Recital/lecture by Sigurd Imsen, violinist at the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. Imsen, expert of Giuseppe Tartini. He will talk about his in-depth research into the style and personality of this great Italian Baroque composer and violinist. Kunsten å si nesten det samme” (The art of saying almost the same) •.Thursday 9 March 2017 – Litteraturhuset (location tbc) Dialogue between Margherita Podestà and Birgit Owe Svihus about their experience and the challenges they meet in translating great literary works from Italian into Norwegian and from Norwegian into Italian. “Tolfa: a meeting point between Rome and Norway” • Friday 10 March 2017 – NTNU Gløshaugen Seminar by Ole Tolstad on the 20-years long history of the Norwegian Study Center in Tolfa, near Rome, and its contribution to art and research. “Wildflower Tales - CD release concert” • Friday 17 March 2017 – Italian restaurant Frati The Billuca Ensemble will release a new CD recording with performances from their tour in Italy last year. The release takes place on the same day when Italy celebrates the 156th anniversary for its unification. “Francesco Negri and the fascination of the North: the first Italian to reach Cape North in the 17th century” • Wednesday 22 March 2017 - NTNU (location tbc) Lecture by Monica Miscali, Associate Professor at the NTNU Department of Historical Studies, on Negri’s journey to North Cape in 1663-1666 and the image of Norway as he describes it in his travel diary. The red priest”. “The Italian literary landscapes” • Tuesday 25 April 2017 – Litteraturhuset (location tbc) Presentation by Stanislao de Marsanich, president of “Parchi Letterari”, of the literary landscapes of Italy - places where great Italian poets and writers lived and found their inspiration - at a crossroad between culture, literature, history and gastronomy.
