What do you know about
Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument in England located in the
county of Wiltshire and is composed of a circular setting of
large standing stones set with earthworks. Scientists noted that
the monument was associated with burial since the very
beginning. Evidences point out that Stonehenge might have
been built in five phases from 3100 B.C through 1600 B.C. The
function of the monument is still unclear since it was produced
by a culture that left no written records. Stonehenge is also
associated with Arthurian legend in which the stones were used
for healing purposes. The stones have been restored twice
during the 20th century; once in 1901 and again in 1958.
Stonehenge has been on the list of World Heritage since 1986.
