DHCU Community Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative, is dedicated to the
Geneseo Community. DHCU is committed to supporting community and civic
organizations whose goals and objectives are consistent with the credit union
philosophy of improving members' well-being.
DHCU’s philosophy is aligned with the Geneseo Park District’s mission to enhance the
quality of life in our community by providing a positive recreational experience for all.
DHCU has worked with the Geneseo Park District for the past 3 summers on an exciting
and community oriented promotion; Popcorn Buckets. DHCU Popcorn Buckets made
their first appearance in May 2012 as a brand new joint promotion. The popcorn
buckets can be picked up at the DHCU Geneseo Branch and can be redeemed all
summer for FREE popcorn and a small drink at the Geneseo Park District Outdoor Pool,
Park District’s free Movie in the Park and at the Central Theater (a 1-screen movie
theater operated by the Geneseo Park District). DHCU then reimburses the Park
District for each redemption.
This program has allowed kids to enjoy a snack at the pool all summer without worrying
about spending money or carrying cash. Community members have become
accustomed to seeing DHCU Popcorn Buckets all around town…in sand boxes, as pool
toys, on the handle bars of kids riding their bikes to the pool and of course at the
concession stand.
Central Theater strives to offer family entertainment at an affordable price. It is a
common occurrence to see a line out the door with every patron carrying their DHCU
Bucket.
In addition to the Popcorn Buckets, DHCU has also partnered with the Geneseo Park
District at the annual Easter Egg Hunt and annual Movie in the Park.
The Geneseo Park District and the Geneseo Community have been lucky to have such
a supportive organization like DHCU to enhance the summer experience for the
residents of all ages!
