Sherlock Holmes Walk in the City of London

LONDON AND SOUTH EASTERN BRANCH REMS SECTION
Sherlock Holmes Walk in the City of London. Thursday 21 September 2006
This walk has been organised by MC Black
We will wander, in the footsteps of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, through some of the obscure
byways as well as the principal thoroughfares of the City of London before finishing at Saxe Coburg*
Square mentioned by Watson in his account of "The Red Headed League".
* Saxe Coburg square isn't listed in either the Victorian or Current A-Z but MC Black has discovered the
location of Jabez Wilson's Pawnbroker business and Mr Merryweather's Gold Bullion by putting the clues
mentioned in The Strand Magazine and Kelly's 1890 Post Office Directory onto the Five Foot to the mile
Ordnance Map.
Members may also care to read:
The Sussex Vampire; A Case of Identity; The Mazarin Stone; The Stockbroker's Clerk;
