TOPIC: Common Core SPEAKER: Ellysa Stern-Cahoy Ms. Stern-Cahoy is an Education Librarian and the Assistant Director of the Pennsylvania Center for the Book in the Penn State University Libraries, University Park. A former children's librarian and school library media specialist, Ms. Cahoy has published research and presented on information literacy, evidencebased librarianship, library instruction, and personal archiving. Ms. Cahoy is past chair of the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) Information Literacy Competency Standards Committee and chaired the initial ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards Review Task Force. In 2013, Ellysa received the Miriam Dudley Instruction Librarian Award from the ACRL Instruction Section. She is currently Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect of the ACRL Instruction Section, and will serve as Chair in 2015-16. TOPIC: Copyright SPEAKER: Brandy Karl Ms. Karl advises the Penn State University Libraries on national and international copyright matters. She serves as a resource for the Libraries’ growing programs of digitization, research data curation and digital scholarship and coordinates with the Office of General Counsel and Information Technology Services, among others, to help develop and apply polices for intellectual property in the University. Ms. Karl previously served as a fellow at Stanford Law School's Center for Internet and Society and Fair Use Project.
