Cast shimmering reflections
On seas of Japan

heart
in their short-spun wake

Acrostic Poetry is where the first letter of each
line spells a word, usually using the same words
as in the title.
Example of Acrostic #1:
Heartbreaking
\
He broke my heart
Every piece, shattered
All I wanted was his love
Real, as he promised
True, as mine for him
But he walked away
Right in the middle of paradise
Every beat of my heart
Aches for his love
Keeping the flame aglow
I will wait by the light
Never losing the hope
God will send him back to me
7
My example of Acrostic #1: Stand Out
See the good in everything
Take a stand and do what people say you can’t
Act the way you wish
Not the same, be different
Different, unlike anyone else
Open your heart to change
Unidentified, no one needs to know your purpose;
you are who you are
Try to be noticed and make people wonder.
My example of Acrostic #2: Nightmare
Never ending terror of the night
Interaction with your biggest fears
Great amounts of horror and fright
Horror and scares all throughout the night
Trying to escape but no way out
Many or few, but just one will do, to scare the living
daylights out of you
Anxious to leave these terrifying night terrors
Really spooky stuff happening in your head
Exciting and thrilling but real scary too.
