power went out and
we wouldn't be able
to come to school.
The roads were bad,
dangerous and slick.
Yes, because there
could have been
things we missed
that we might need
in the future. We
wont get the education that we need.

Springtime
Its springtime no more
snow,
Flowers grow.
Birds come back,
And animals snack.
What’s that I hear?
Is that a deer?
Crunch, crunch, crunch
Munch, munch, munch
It’s springtime I’m swimming in the lake,
And my dad is outside
cooking steak.
I’m out of school,
It’s really cool!
The bees are buzzing
busily in the backyard,
Oh no my little sister just
ate a bucket of lard!
Oh I’m having so much
fun,
Sitting outside in the sun!
Its springtime I can smell
the fresh air,
And I can’t just waste my
time sitting in a chair.
I have to do my spring
cleaning
If I don’t know pain I’ll find
out its meaning.
Oh no the clouds are gray,
I hope it doesn’t start to
spray.

Life
Many years ago before human existence there was a battle between the
gods. The god of good and warm air
Jimineas, wanted to bestow light upon
the world. The goddess of bad and
cold air, Krata wanted the world to
remain dark and cold. Jimineas and
Krata have a meeting upon the mountain overlooking the world. Jimineas
wants there to be light, because it will
make him happy. Krata says that she
would be happy if it remained dark.
Jimineas says look I will make it
bright, see it is beautiful and warm.
Krata says NO! Look it is cold and
dark, now it is truly beautiful! The
rumble of their voices creates and
uprising of the wind in the distance.
As their tempers rise, the world flashes
from light to dark and the winds start
swirling fiercely. The hot air and cold
air meet causing a swirling cyclone to
form. As the cyclone gains power it
picks up sand, dirt, water , two pebbles, bark, and sticks. As it twists and
turns around a form takes shape. The
water and bark merge together creating
a head, two pebbles form eyes, the
sand and dirt create the skin and body
of the figure. Krata and Jimineas
continue to fight . The sticks form
limbs, small splinters of wood create
fingers and toes. The cyclone continues, picking up items in its path creating hair, teeth, a mouth and a nose.
BOOM! The light of the world flashes
and Krata and Jimineas see something
standing there. The figure says, “I am
life, and you created me.” Jimineas
and Krata ask Life, to solve their argument which is better dark and cold or
light and warmth. Life responds, “ I
came from light and dark , good and
bad so I need both to survive.” Krata
and Jimineas decide to compromise
and so when day ends night begins and
life is created.
Dear Editor:
Dear editor,
I am writing
this letter because I
am concerned
about the eco system. We have
trash all over the
earth there are people littering and
trash all over the
forests. It’s like we
live in a city dump
all I’m trying to
say is that we need
to go green. We
could start by not
littering and pick
up any trash you
see. You could also
recycle and reuse,
don’t waste paper
because if you
waste paper then
they have to cut down
more trees and you reduce our oxygen and
we need oxygen to
survive. This is a very
serious matter and
you’d be amazed on
what we can accomplish if we work together.

Ask your parents to
change their light
bulbs to the lower
watt bulbs that are
eco friendly. Shut
the water off while
you brush your
teeth and ride your
bike or walk to your
friend’s house. Together we can make
a difference.
