We Need Your Old Jeans and Empty
Clean Plastic Milk Gallons (or 2 Liter
Bottles)!!!!
+
Donate old jeans (denim) and thin plastic like milk gallons or 2 liter bottles (please rinse / wash out before donation, even
plastic folders that have seen better days) to be used as materials that can be constructed into shoes for people in Africa.
If we receive enough donations, OF students will be using patterns to cut pieces of denim and plastic as sets to be made into
shoes. The sets will be donated to Sole Hope who will send the materials to Uganda where trained members in African
communities will get paid to construct the shoes (using glue, elastic and recycled tires as soles) to be worn by children in
their communities. These shoes will protect the people’s feet from physical harm including parasites and trauma while
walking to work and playing.
Submit donations ASAP (we need a full count of materials by November 18th) to Tera Simpson or Jimi Zawacki (MS / HS) or
Lisa Bee or Hailey Zawacki (Osseo-Elementary). Donations to Fairchild Elementary can be bagged and dropped in the office
to be sent through school mail C/O Tera Simpson MS / HS.
Contact Tera Simpson ([email protected]) with any questions.
Other Donations Accepted: Monetary Donations, Medical Supplies for Parasite Extraction from the Feet (Stickers for
Children, Large Safety Pins, Surgical Gloves, Cotton Balls, Medical Tape, Antibiotic Cream, Gauze and BandAids – all that can
be sent along with the shoe materials)
