Note: These books are simply suggestions. You may choose any book you’d like within this month’s genre. Do you like this genre? ________ Information The All Star Reading Club started in 2008 at West Tualatin View Elementary School. Students from all grades are invited to read a book from a different genre each month and fill out the form on the back of this page. Every month, completed forms will be collected and a student’s progress will be tracked on a chart. Students who read books from five different genres will be invited to a Spring Party and will be able to choose a free book during the Year End Book Swap. Students who read a book from all eight genres will receive a special prize at the Spring Party. This is a terrific way for students to explore all the genres of literature and, perhaps, enjoy books they never thought they’d be interested in. Here are the genres for each month: October – Mystery & Horror November – Historical Fiction December – Non-fiction January – Action & Adventure February – Biography March – Fantasy & Science Fiction April – Poetry May -- Folklore BONUS GENRE Any Month - Classic Forms are due at the end of each month. Make-ups are allowed! If a student has questions or missed a month and wants to read from that genre, contact the library. All Star Reading Club a tour of genres ANY MONTH – The Classics A Classic has come to be considered one of the best of its kind, an example of excellence.
