WALK LIKE AN EGYPTIAN

Create some Egyptian jewellery and we’ll make
a self-portrait, Egyptian style. Using printing,
silhouettes and junk-modelling materials,
we will cross the seas and also go back in time.

BACKPACKING FOR PIRATES
1.30pm–3.30pm. Drop off
ART, AGES 3–5
What would you pack in your backpack if
you were a pirate going on a journey on the
high seas? We’ll need to make a pirate hat, a
telescope, and a treasure map. Grab your parrot,
hoist the Jolly Roger and let’s set sail!

LET’S GO KITE CRAZY!

Let’s go ‘Tako-kichi’ (kite crazy) this spring in
Blackheath. Ever wanted to make your own
kite? Come and explore the art of Japanese kite
making at the Conservatoire and create your
own vivid kite to fly on the heath. COST: £48. TUTOR: KIRSTEN LYLE
SOUNDS AROUND
THE WORLD

MUSIC, AGES 18–36 MONTHS
Travel around the world with song and music and
discover the animals of the world! Tigers in the
jungle, rabbits in the fields, fish in the ocean
and birds in the sky.

Using the objects brought in by workshop
participants, this class will contain still life
sketching, origami and painting. Participants
will work together to create a large scale map
of the world as well as a boat structure which
can be used to journey around the world!
Please bring in a small personal belonging from
home and an object you find on your journey to
the Conservatoire.

MUSICAL DISCOVERIES

Let’s go on a musical discovery and explore
music, rhythm and physicality inspired by
animals from all over the world. Have fun, make
friends and play games to learn about and

STILL LIFE ON HOLIDAY
1 DAY GUITAR WORKSHOP

MUSIC, AGES 6–9
Grab your passport and come on your holidays
with us by creating paintings inspired by still life
arrangements of objects you take on holiday
with you. Participants will study the work
of David Hockney, Peter Doig and Winifred
Nicholson and use them as reference for creating
their own works of art using acrylic paint.
Come and travel around the world with your
guitar in this one-day workshop! Your guitar will
take you on a journey of discovery as you learn
to express yourself under the guidance of our
popular tutors. We welcome young guitarists of
all levels, including complete beginners. Guitars
can be hired for the session free of charge.
Please bring along a photograph or image of
somewhere you have travelled to on holiday
or somewhere you would like to visit.

UKULELE WORKSHOP
MUSIC, AGES 3–5
10.30am–12pm. Drop off

Join us on this fun-filled introduction to the
instrument, learning all about it. Participants
will learn to play a few easy songs, improvise
and join in with some general musicianship
games. All levels are welcome. Ukuleles can
be hired for the session free of charge.

Set in a TV studio where the actors are “actoids”
(robots). Adam, a new writer, arrives and
becomes obsessed with the nurse actoid
JC-F31-333. They decide to run away together,
travelling around the world, hotly pursued by
the TV network and the Press trying to capture
“The Story of the Century”.
