members through financial compensation. A: 1) No: a
board member should be a veterinarian who is dedicated to
the local veterinary community and shows commitment
through volunteering without compensation. 2) SKCVMA
could not give significant compensation to each board
position. 3) Increase in interest must start with the current
members promoting the board and the work it does and
could do.

Presidentʼs Column
Dr. Tejinder Sodhi
First of all, I want to
thank SKCVMA members
for the privilege of
serving
as
2010
SKCVMA President of
the organization, it is time
to pass the title to Dr. Jeff
Parke.
You will find
SKCVMA in the capable
hands of Dr. Jeff Parke,
whose dedication, work
ethic and leadership will
be our strength in 2011.
Secondly, I feel blessed to have worked with a Board
that is wise, visionary, and dedicated to the health and
growth of SKCVMA. I have always appreciated the
volunteered time, effort and dedication the Board
members and Committee chairpersons have given to
SKCVMA. I personally want to thank each one of
them.
And finally, SKCVMA is built and maintained by its
members: it is only through them that SKCVMA can
become a more integral benefit to all veterinary
practitioners in our area. I urge members to actively
participate in the board and SKCVMA committees.
‘Taking a turn’ supporting SKCVMA is an honor, and
provides insight into many processes behind organized
veterinary medicine that are all too easily taken for
granted.
Once again I thank you all, and welcome Dr. Jeff
Parke aboard as 2011 SKCVMA President.
