home loan that will allow members to pay
extra on your mortgage or pay it off sooner
without paying the normal interest rate penalty. The special fixed interest rate is now 2.89%. So, if you think
you may be selling in the next couple of years and still want a preferred fixed rate, this may be the loan for you. Depending on the
size of the loan, this could be a huge savings. It gives you the
flexibility of an open mortgage loan with the security of knowing your
rate will not change, so you can lock in while rates are still low.

The 2015 Federal Budget included an increase
in the allowed annual contribution for Tax Free
Savings Accounts from $5,500 to $10,000.
Canada Revenue clarified that the allowed
increase takes affect immediately, so members
can contribute additional funds in 2015 up to
the new annual maximum of $10,000.
Online Security a Priority for Members
A recent security update on our banking system will now allow PCCU to set up a stronger security login protocol for online banking. Right now members use a login ID and password to
access your online banking information. The system is secure and has worked well, however,
in order to further protect members from the possibility of a hacker accessing your ID and
password by getting into your home computer, PCCU will be adding personal security questions, that only you will know the answer to. So even if a hacker figures out your ID and password, when they try to login to your account they will not know the answers to your security
questions, and will be unable to get any of your banking information. This added protocol will
take a few extra minutes to set up, and you will need to make sure you choose questions that
you can remember. If you do forget, a new login ID can be set up for you, but you will need to
contact the credit union in person or by phone. Staff members will ask you specific questions
about your account to ensure your identity before they assign you a new login ID. This new
security protocol will go into affect on June 1st ,2015. We want to make sure that all of our
members are informed before we add the new security features to the online banking login
process.
Please help us welcome Deb Gaskell as the newest member of
our Teller team. Deb has lived and worked in Peterborough for
many years, so some members may recognize her from her
previous careers here. We are pleased to have her on board!
