Rules: Students are divided into groups (4 or 5). Each is assigned a role within the group. o Translator: ensures that all included vocabulary is translated correctly to English o Grammar Chief: ensures that all verbs are conjugated correctly. o Component Counter: makes sure all five (5) original sentence components are included in the final presentation. o Presentation Preparer: double-checks each of the above team mate’s translation, grammar, and component checks. (This role is the one that can be eliminated in the case of a group of only four students. o Scribe: The scribe writes the final group of sentences on the board for the class to view. Each group is assigned a personal pronoun group (yo, tú, él+ella+Ud., nosotros, or ellos+ellas+Uds.). They will use this personal pronoun group to determine how they will conjugate the verbs given to them. Each group will also receive two (2) words from the separate list of adverbs, adverbial phrases, prepositions, and prepositional phrases. They must use each of these one (1) time each in each turn. Each group will use the same group of words twice to form no more than three (3) sentences from the words given to them. However, the personal pronoun assignment will change between each turn. The next round will work the same, except that the students will be given a new set of words, as well as a new personal pronoun assignment. This way they get a variety of vocabulary words and verb conjugations. Definitions: a turn is each three-sentence max formation by the group. Two turns constitute a round. Each turn within a round uses the same group of words. Each round students will get a new group of words to work with. Students are allowed to use words they already know from other units; however, they must use all of the words assigned to them in the game during each turn and round.
