INTRODUCTION
Jackie Robinson was a important athlete. He was the first African American to play
major league baseball. The major leagues is the highest level of playing
professional baseball. He used effort, motivation, and persistence to overcome many
obstacles and reach his goal of becoming a great baseball player.

ACCOMPLISHMENT
Jackie Robinsons accomplishment was being the first African American to play major league
baseball. Jackie used motivation by being a sports star in high school and college. Jackie
became a sports star in high school and college because he needed to train if he wanted to
be the first black person to play in the major leagues. Jackie showed effort by playing with
the Kansas City Monarchs in the negro-league. Jackie showed persistence because at that
time African Americans couldn’t play on the major league. But jackie played in the major
leagues with the Brooklyn Dodgers for ten years. Jackie Robinson reached his goal to be
the first African-American to play major league baseball

OUR GOALS
Jackie Robinson and I have both been persistent to achieve our goals.
Jackie was persistent and achieved his goal of becoming a great
baseball player. I was persistent and achieved my goal of getting
into a Tennis tournament and getting in the consolation.
That’s me!
MY ACCOMPLISHMENT
I WORKED HARD TO ACHIEVE MY GOAL OF BEING IN A TENNIS TOURNAMENT. I Practiced almost five days a week. I
practiced a lot with my coach and sometimes with my brother. My mom signed me up for a tournament and my
brother was signed up too. So I looked at the draws and saw I was playing my brother in the first round!
Brothers can’t play against each other in the first round. they can only play in douBles. douBles is a game in
tennis with players on each side. So I played my brother in the first round and I lost 6-2 6-4 so I played a
consolation match 6 hours later. A consolation is a extra round if you lose in the first round or second round in
tennis. So I had to play the 4th seed. He was really good. But I fought back and won 8-5. since I won I was in the
semi-finals and one round away from the consolation finals. I was playing a guy who beat the 2nd seed. I knew I
was going to have trouble with him and did. I was down 5-7 and he had a match point which is a point were they
have One more point then they beat you. So he had a match point so I was about to lose when I hit a shot and he
missed. so it was 7 -6 he had the lead by one game and he had one game to win too. But I won that game so it was 77 so we had to play a 7- point tiebreaker. I won the tiebreaker to win to get in the finals.
