September 23rd ENON MESSENGER See You at the Pole “UNITED” Students gather around the flagpoles “They all met together and were constantly united in prayer” Acts 1:14 September 2015 What’s Happening?? What a great opportunity! Ladies, please give your money to Jean Rice and she will take care of purchasing our tickets. Our church is preparing for a home missions outreach at the fair. We will also have evangelism and mission teams serving at the fair Sept. 17th. Please be in prayer for this multi-association mission project to reach souls at the North Carolina Mountain State Fair! Our church will have a special emphasis on growing in our relationship with Christ. The 40 Hours Set Aside For Christ will be September 18-20th. We will have Friday evening worship at 7pm. We will have two services Saturday at 11am and 7p.m. We will conclude with our Enon Homecoming on Sunday at 11am. Our guest speaker for this special event will be Evangelist Neal Hatfield, Director of the Uplands Reach Conference Center! Please be in prayer concerning this special time of spiritual focus... Our Baptist Men have been busy working on our basement windows. They recently held a special work day to remove the original windows. They will have another work day in the near future to install the new windows. Our men would like to thank again the ladies who prepared the delicious lunch. God truly blessed everyone involved in the project Choir Notes . . . . 1 Corinthians 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fall! The brisk air, the fall walks in sweaters, the coffee with Upcoming NC Missions Offering Pumpkin Spice creamer, the crunch of leaves under your feet. A skeptic might say, “Yeah, they crunch because they’re dying.” Maybe so, but I prefer to think of 1 Corinthians 15:22 when I think of fall. Yes, just like Adam, old things are dying, but, again just like those of us in Christ, they will all be made alive again in the spring. We who believe have an advantage though – we don’t have to wait till spring for our renewal! It comes as soon as we accept Jesus as our Savior. Fall is the beginning of renewal in nature, not just the end of a season. As you enjoy the season, remember to live your Christian faith as a renewed spirit. Ministry Opportunities . . . Words for Misfits by Max Lucado 1 Samuel 16:7 says, “. . .man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Those words were written for misfits and outcasts. God uses them all. Moses ran from justice, but God used him. Jonah ran from God, but God used him. Rahab ran a brothel; Sarah ran out of hope; Lot ran with the wrong crowd; but God used them all. And David? Human eyes saw a gangly teenager, smelling like sheep. Yet the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is the one!” (1 Samuel 16:12). God saw what no one else saw— a God-seeking heart. David took after God’s heart, because he stayed after God’s heart. In the end, that is all God wants or needs. Others measure your waist size or wallet. Not God. He examines hearts. When he finds one set on Him, He calls it and claims it. Enon Baptist Church/ [email protected] / 828-877-4418 / www.enonnc.com
