stablished in 2005, Jeunesse was created out of a long standing desire to create a unique cosmetic medicine clinic in Hamilton. Their goal is to assist you to look and
feel your best through the various non surgical treatments
they specialise in. Founder of Jeunesse Kirshni Appanna is an
experienced appearance medicine physician and is a Fellow of the
New Zealand society of Cosmetic Medicine (NZSCM). With a keen
aesthetic eye, Kirshni and her team at Jeunesse pride themselves of
making it not just about the treatments, but the whole experience. The
Beauty Book caught up with Kirshni to talk about the current trends in
appearance medicine and what treatments she offers.
How is the Appearance Medicine industry changing?
When I started Cosmetic Medicine over 10 years ago, it was all
about treating lines and wrinkles. Today, it’s more about looking at
what’s physiologically happening with ageing and correcting the
deficit that has been created. We tend to replenish lost volume with
fillers re creating a more natural harmonised face.
What are some of the current trends in Appearance Medicine?
In today’s quick-fix world it’s all about minimally invasive procedures
with little down time to help clients looking their best. We look at the
face as a whole, starting from skin colour and texture, to the loss of
volume, as well as lines and wrinkles. We then tailor an individual
treatment plan to help rejuvenate the face in a natural way in order
to restore harmony.

by doctors who have had extensive training in cosmetic medicine.
Our doctors have over ten years of experience and I’m one of the
education officers of NZSCM. What also makes us different is that we
aim to focus on creating partnerships with our clients, getting to know
them and working to get the best result for them.
What kind of treatments does Jeunesse offer?
We offer a wide variety of treatments for facial lines, gummy smiles,
dimply chins, lip lines, chin creases, lip shaping, jowls, saggy cheeks,
tired hollows under the eyes, down turned mouth corners, teeth
grinding, broad jaws, turkey necks, sun damaged skin, pigmentation
problems, unwanted hair, acne, large pores, cosmetic moles, age
spots, the list goes on!
Who is your usual clientele?
Most of our clients are ladies between the ages of 35-55. The
younger ones are looking to maintain their looks while the slightly
older ones want to refresh theirs. We have seen an increase in the
number of male patients and “Bro-Tox” is definitely on the up. A fair
number of male businessmen even have their sweaty armpits treated!
Lastly, what’s your best anti-ageing tip?
The earlier you start with a good skin care regime the better! Use
sunscreen everyday, rain hail or shine!
