FOUR Reasons the Americans won the Revolutionary War
1) Better Leadership: George Washington; Many British leaders obtained their jobs
through connections rather than skill.
2) Foreign Aid: Patriots received much needed financial backing, supplies, and soldiers
from both Spain and France.
3) Knowledge of the Land: Colonists made skilled use of their knowledge of the land.

4) Motivation: Patriots’ homes were at stake.
SIX Results of the Treaty of Paris of 1783
1) The United States was independent.
2) The boundaries of the United States would extend west to the Mississippi River. Canada
to the north and Florida to the South. (Boundary with Florida in dispute for a long time)
3) Each side would repay debts owed from before the war.
4) The British would return any slaves they captured.
5) Congress would recommend that property taken from the Loyalists by the states would
be returned.
6) The United States would receive fishing rights off of the coast of Nova Scotia.
