BMHS graduates 88 class members
Ballard Memorial High School observed its 62st commencement exercises on May 30, with 88 students
crossing the stage in the gymnasium here.

Valedictorian Devin Griffin is the son of William and Holly Griffin of Kevil. He is a member of the Beta
Club, the all-A honor roll, and the varsity soccer team. He plans to attend the UK College of Engineering.
Valedictorian Cera Peck is the daughter of James and Danielle Peck of Wickliffe. She is a two-year member
of Health Occupations Students of America, and eligible for the organization’s national competition; a State
Registered Nurse Aide; Student Council treasurer, a member of the all-A honor roll and the journalism staff,
and was voted Most Opinionated by her class. She plans to attend West Kentucky Community and Technical
College and major in business.
Valedictorian Taylor Raffety is the daughter of Mary Smith of LaCenter and Hunter Raffety of Kennett,
Mo. She was freshman class treasurer, junior class secretary and Student Council secretary; president of Future
Educators of America, a member of the all-A honor roll, Student Ambassadors, HOSA, the Fellowship of
Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, the Spanish and Beta clubs, and the tennis and
academic teams; and co-editor of the journalism staff and a member of the broadcasting team. She plans to
attend Murray State University and major in middle school math education.
Salutatorian Millicent Kay Green is the daughter of Donald Green and Donna Thornton-Green of West
Paducah. She was captain of the junior varsity soccer team and a member of the varsity team; vice-president of
Beta Club, president of Spanish Club, and a member of FBLA, Future Farmers of America, choir, academic
team, honor roll, journalism staff and a one-year member of the basketball team. Green served as class president
as a freshman, junior and senior, and received the Athlete-Scholar Award from the U.S. Army. She plans to
attend Benedictine University and major in writing and publishing, and will play college soccer.
Salutatorian Lyndsey Grief is the daughter of Amy and Robert Grief of LaCenter. She is a four-year
member of HOSA, FCA, and the soccer team; a two-year member of the Student Ambassadors and marching
band; the all-A and all-A/B honor roll, and a State Registered Nurse Aide. She plans to pursue a bachelor’s
degree in nursing at MSU, and later continue her studies to become a nurse anesthetist.
Honor graduate designation is based upon a cumulative eight-semester grade point average of 3.50 or above
while pursuing an honors-track program. In addition to the valedictorians and salutatorian, other honor
graduates are as follows:
Chad Adams is the son of Sharon Adams and Wesley Adams. He plans to attend the UK College of
Engineering and major in mechanical engineering.
Elizabeth Chadwick is the daughter of Donald DeWayne Chadwick and Lori Gail Chadwick of Barlow. She
plans to attend Campbellsville University, where she will major in English and minor in English as a Second
Language.
Logan Davis is the son of Bradley and Leslee Davis of Barlow. He plans to attend WKCTC and then MSU,
where he will major in occupational safety and health administration.
Abbi Denton is the daughter of Tammy Waldon of Kevil and Kreg Denton of LaCenter. She plans to attend
John A. Logan College on a basketball scholarship and is undecided on a major.
Maggie Denton is the daughter of Chris and Susan Denton of LaCenter. She plans to attend MSU and major
in nursing.
Taylor Foster is the daughter of Rob Foster of LaCenter and Lashae Foster of LaCenter. She plans to attend
WKCTC to study nursing, then transfer to MSU to become a nurse practitioner.
Hailey Houston is the daughter of Bridget and Brent Houston of LaCenter. She plans to attend
Campbellsville University and is undecided on a major.
Jessica Jones is the daughter of Jerry and Marilee Jones of Barlow. She plans to attend MSU, where she will
major in journalism and minor in television production.
Justin King is the son of Todd and Leslie King of Wickliffe. He plans to attend the University of Kentucky
and major in mechanical engineering.
Shelby Rollings is the daughter of Ivey and Jim Rollings of Barlow. She plans to attend WKCTC for the
nursing program and later transfer.
Codi Sullenger is the daughter of Tammy and Terry Sullenger of Kevil. She plans to attend WKCTC.
Shelby Wiggins is the daughter of Tony and Carol Wiggins of Kevil. She plans to attend MSU and major in
criminal justice.
