The use of a squeegee following each shower is recommended to eliminate water spots on the inside of the glass panels. An occasional wiping down with a mild detergent diluted in water is all that is needed to keep the panels and anodized aluminum parts looking new. Measure distance D at the flattest part of the shower ledge. "D" CAUTION: If a steel tape is used, be sure to add the width of the case to the measurement. 2 CUTTING BOTTOM TRACK Note: Wear Safety Glasses. Bottom Track Cut bottom track 7⁄8" shorter than distance D. IMPORTANT: Do not measure and cut top track until wall jambs have been installed. (See step 10 ). For best results use a 32 tooth hacksaw blade and a miter box. 3 DRILLING GUIDE HOLES IN BOTTOM TRACK Bottom Track Note: Wear Safety Glasses. Divide the cut length of the bottom track by four. Measure from each end of bottom track and use this dimension to mark each end of the bottom track on the "V" groove. Place a guide on the bottom track and move the guide so that the hole in the guide will be aligned with the mark on the bottom track. Using the hole in the guide a s a t e m p l a t e , d r i l l a 1⁄8" diameter hole through the bottom track. Drill on opposite end of track using same procedure. Guide Centerline Place the guide on the bottom track exactly at center of track. Using the hole i n t h e g u i d e a s a t e m p l a t e , d r i l l a 1⁄8" diameter hole through the bottom track. Do not install guides now. Install guides in step 15. 4 LOCATING BOTTOM TRACK Place the bottom track on the flattest part of the ledge with the sloping face of the track towards the inside of the shower. Make sure that the space between the wall and track is the same on both ends. Fasten the track with masking tape. Mark the ledge with a soft pencil along the front edge of the track. Front Side Bottom Track This Side Toward Inside of Shower 3 5 LOCATING WALL JAMB Wall Jamb Round off bottom ends of wall jambs if necessary. Place one wall jamb down over end of bottom track. Wall jamb must sit flat against the wall with the legs of wall jamb fully engaged with bottom track. CAUTION: The wall jamb must sit flat against the wall with the legs of wall jamb f u l l y e n g a g e d w i t h t h e b o t t o m t r a c k. Shape the bottom end of the wall jamb with a file if the wall jamb end is not fully engaged with the bottom track. Bottom Track (Inside) Wall Jamb If the end of the wall jamb is not shaped c o r r e c t e l y, t h e d o o r p a n e l s w i l l n o t operate properly in the panel guides. Bottom Track 6 MARKING HOLE LOCATIONS Use a level to plumb the wall jamb as shown and mark the 3 hole locations. Repeat procedure at opposite end of unit with other jamb and make sure that the end of wall jamb is fully engaged with the bottom track. Use same procedure as in step 5 to insure end of wall jamb is fully engaged with the bottom track. 7 DRILLING HOLES NOTE: Wear Safety Glasses Lightly center punch the 3-hole locations for each wall jamb. On cermic tile, use the center punch to nick the surface glaze. Tap the punch lightly with your hammer so you don’t crack the tile. Drill all 6 holes with a 3⁄1 6" drill bit. Use a masonry bit for ceramic tile. After drilling, thoroughly clean the tub or shower ledge and insert plastic anchors into all 6 holes. 4 Wall Jamb Pencil Level 8 Caulk Here CAULKING BOTTOM TRACK Remove the bottom track from the shower ledge and apply two beads of caulk on the underside of the track as shown. Apply enough caulk to just barely overfill the grooves. This will give a good seal with the ledge. Bottom Track Install bottom track on ledge at location marked in step 4. 9 Wall Jamb INSTALLING WALL JAMBS Place each wall jamb over the bottom track and align the holes in the wall jamb with the holes in the wall. W i t h N o . 8 - 1 8 x 1 1⁄2" s c r e w s t h r o u g h bumpers, secure wall jambs to wall. Push bumper inserts into each bumper. No. 8-18 x 1 1⁄2" Panhead Screw 10 Bumper Bumper Insert No. 8-18 x 1 1⁄2" Screw MEASURING, CUTTING AND INSTALLING TOP TRACK Measure Here NOTE: Wear Safety Glasses. Measure the wall to wall opening at the top of wall jambs. CAUTION: If a steel tape is used, be sure to add the width of the case to the measurement. Cut the top track 1/32" shorter than the actual measurement to allow for clearance. For best results, use a 32 tooth hacksaw blade and a miter box. File rough edges and install top track over the wall jamb ends. 3⁄ 4" 11 SECURING TOP TRACK Approximately 1⁄ 2" M e a s u r e a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1⁄2" f r o m t h e bottom of the top track leg , (first groove in top track), and across 3⁄4" and drill a 1⁄8" diameter hole through the top track and wall jamb. Repeat on the opposite end of the top t r a c k a n d s e c u r e w i t h 2 N o . 8 - 1 8 x 3⁄8" panhead screws. No. 8-18 x 3⁄8" Panhead Screw 5 12 INSTALLING ROLLERS AND CLAMPS Note: The Steel Side (Nut Side) of Roller must be installed against the Roller Bracket Flange. IMPORTANT: Be sure the glass panels and clamp assemblies are clean and dry before installing. Using No. 8-18 x 3⁄8" hex washer head screws, assemble a roller on each clamp assembly on the roller bracket flange side as shown. Clamp Assembly (Roller Bracket Flange Side) Clamp Gasket Note: The steel side (Nut Side) of roller must be installed against the roller bracket flange. At the top end of each glass panel, fit a clamp gasket onto each side of panel 1" from the edge of panel as shown. F R O N T P A N E L R O L L E R L O C A T I O N ----I f t h e glass is smooth on both sides, install the clamp assemblies with the rollers on the same side of glass panel. If the glass panel has a rough side, install the clamp assemblies with the rollers on the rough side of glass. 1" Clamp Gasket No. 8-18 x 3⁄8" Hex Washer Head Screw I N S I D E P A N E L R O L L E R L O C A T I O N ----I f t h e glass is smooth on both sides, install the clamp assemblies with the rollers on the same side of glass panel. If the glass panel has a rough side, install the clamp assemblies with the rollers on the smooth side of glass. Determine roller locations and fit clamp assemblies down over each clamp gasket. Ti g h t e n t h e 3 s c r e w s i n e a c h o f t h e c l a m p assemblies. CAUTION: Tighten the screws again and pull up on each of the clamp assemblies to insure that they are securely clamped to the glass panels. Tighten all screws a minimum of 3 times to insure all clamp assemblies are securely clamped to glass panels. Tighten the screws again to be sure the clamp assemblies are securely clamped to the glass panels. 13 INSTALLING FRONT DOOR PANEL From inside the shower, install the front panel first. Lift it up inside the top track and hang the rollers on the front rail of the top track. FRONT SIDE Front Rail Align the front panel with the wall jamb opposite the showerhead side. If adjustment is needed, remove the panel and loosen roller screw(s). Move the roller(s) in slot to align door panel. Tighten screw(s) and hang the door panel. 6 Front Panel 14 INSTALLING INSIDE DOOR PANEL FRONT SIDE From inside the shower, install the inside door panel. Lift it up inside the top track and hang the rollers on the inside rail of the top track. Inside Rail Align the inside panel with the wall jamb on the showerhead side. Inside Panel If adjustment is needed, remove the panel and loosen roller screw(s). Move the roller(s) in slot to align door panel. Tighten screw(s) and hang the door panel. 15 INSTALL BOTTOM TRACK GUIDES Push both panels to one side as shown in figure 1. Place a guide on the bottom track exactly at center of track and align with the drilled hole. Fasten the guide with a No. 8-18 x 3⁄8" panhead screw. Place another guide near the end of bottom track and align with the drilled hole. Fasten t h e g u i d e w i t h a N o . 8 - 1 8 x 3⁄8" p a n h e a d screw. Push both panels against the opposite side as shown in figure 2 and install the other panel guide. Figure 1 Guide Guide No. 8-18 x 3⁄8" Panhead Screw Guide Figure 2 16 INSTALLING PANEL BRACKET TO TOWEL BAR BRACKET Place one of the panel brackets on the left hand towel bar bracket as shown. Align hole in panel bracket with hole in towel bar bracket and secure with a No. 8-32 x 5⁄1 6" flathead screw. Repeat procedure for the other panel bracket and right hand towel bar bracket. Panel Bracket No. 8-32 x 5⁄16" Flathead Screw Left Hand Towel Bar Bracket 7 17 INSTALLING TOWEL BAR BRACKET AND TOWEL BAR Left HandTowel Bar Bracket Handle Gasket Fit a handle gasket over the left side of the outside glass panel. Important: Use 2 handle gaskets o n each side of pebble glass panels. Use 1 handle gasket on each side of clear glass panels. Open End Outside Panel Locate gasket at horizontal center of panel and push the left hand towel bar bracket onto the handle gasket. Longer Towel Bar Insert the longer towel bar into the top hole of bracket and insert the other towel bar into the bottom hole of bracket. Towel Bar Handle Gasket Handle Gasket Fit the other gasket exactly across from the installed gasket and towel bar bracket and push the right hand towel bar bracket onto the handle gasket with the towel bars pushed into the towel bar bracket. Right Hand Towel Bar Bracket Install 2 set screws into each bracket and secure with a 5⁄6 4" hex key wrench. Set Screw 8 18 INSTALLING HANDLE TO INSIDE DOOR PANEL Inside Panel Be sure glass is clean and dry. Apply tape to the back side (smooth side opposite the recessed side) of each handle and remove the plastic covering from tape on each handle. Handle Install one of the handles on the inside panel toward the shower head side, 2" from edge and on the horizontal center line of panel. Install the other handle exactly behind the installed handle on the opposite side of the glass. 19 Handle CAULKING Carefully Caulk Where: A. Wall Jambs and Wall Meet. B. Bottom Track and Wall Jamb Join. A. C . Bottom Track and Shower Ledge Join. B. Allow caulk to set for 24 hours before use.
