Waldorf teachers of grades 1 through 3 will instantly recognize this as a parody
of a frequently used poem. No doubt they will roll their eyes, and grin.
A Frog and a Fish
went swimming one day,
far into the ocean—
Away! Away!
“Fair Frog,” said the Fish,
“we must have a care!
A frightful old shark
is swimming out there!”
The deadly gray monster
swam silently past,
the Fish she wept bubbles,
and slowly degassed.
The Frog chased the finny
old shark out to sea.
The Fish she was happy
and bubbled, “Yippee!”
The Frog and the Fish
went swimming away,
they swam off together—
Away! Away!
