3 Installation
AbioRTC
First of all, place a CR2032 battery in the battery holder of the AbioRTC.
Use with Raspberry Pi model A and B
The AbioRTC has a 2x13 pin female header that
fits perfectly on your Raspberry Pi computer.
Be sure you connect the AbioRTC in such a way
it floats above the computer as shown in the
picture to the right.
You've to prevent the AbioRTC's lithium battery
from touching components on the computer
PCB.
Use with Raspberry Pi model A+, B+ and 2
The AbioRTC fits on Raspberry Pi model A+,
Raspberry Pi model B+, and Raspberry Pi model
2.
The 40-pin header on these computers is an
extension of the 26-pin header that's found on
model A and model B. Be sure the AbioRTC is
mounted as shown in the picture to the right.
You've to prevent the AbioRTC's lithium battery
from touching components on the computer
PCB.
Use with Banana Pi
The AbioRTC has a 2x13 pin female header that
fits perfectly on your Banana Pi computer.
Be sure you connect the AbioRTC in such a way
it floats above the computer as shown in the
picture to the right.
You've to prevent the AbioRTC's lithium battery

4 Software
Raspberry Pi
The AbioRTC relies on the AbioCard software package for supporting the real-time clock
on Raspberry Pi.
Execute the script called install_abiortc_rpi.sh to install program abiocardtime. The
script will add abiocardtime to the root's cron table in order to update the system time
during boot-up and once a day.
You can use program abiocardgui for accessing the AbioRTC.
Banana Pi
You can use the AbioCard software package to deploy your AbioRTC on Banana Pi.
Program abiocardtime can be used to access the AbioRTC. You'll have to determine the
device path of the i2c-dev interface on the GPIO header. The device path may be
/dev/i2c-2 for example.
You can modify installation script install_abiortc_rpi.sh for your Banana Pi. Simply add
command line parameter -dev /dev/i2c-<n> to each invocation of abiocardtime.
<n> denotes the I2C bus that connects to the AbioRTC.
You can use program abiocardgui for accessing the AbioRTC.
