West Side Story Campolindo High School
Cast Members and Parents,
This year’s production of “West Side Story” is an exciting but massive costume undertaking. With over 70 cast
members, there are over 200 costumes or some 1000 individual costume pieces in this show. So, we’re asking
you to scour your closets, local thrift stores, or borrow from friends a critical portion of your costume requirements.
Below is a checklist based on your assigned character. It is separated into individual looks (i.e. On the Street, At
the Dance, and Ballet). Each look is then broken down into individual pieces. Starred entrees are completely
optional.
Before you start looking for the items, please review the “Shark Boys” guide which is posted on the
Campo Choir website under “Spring Musical”. It will provide specific insight on the costumes. Pay close
attention to the color requirements.
The Sharks have a strict color palette; The Sharks color palette is warm and
vibrant. Bright colors like purples, pinks, reds, and oranges came directly from the
island.
Costuming can be a lot of fun, so please don’t get overly stressed about it. If you can’t find something or have

Costume Check List:
“On the Street”
*Shirt- t shirt, bowling shirt, tank top, NO logos. Shade of red, hot pink, orange, purple.
Pants- straight legged black or grey jeans or chinos. Also encourage red, purple, wine, burgundy!
Socks- dark color to match pants or colorful argyles
Shoes- black, grey, red, purple, orange Converse (High tops ok) Or black dress shoe
*Jacket/Sweater- Member’s Only, Black leather, Motorcycle style. Stick to color guide.
*Accessories- black or canvas belt, leather bracelets,
“At the Dance”
Button-down Shirt- solid color- Black, grey, red, purple, orange, burgundy,
Pants- straight legged trousers- black, grey, wine,
Socks- to match pants
Shoes- black leather dress shoes
*Jacket or Vest- welcome to bring in a jacket if you have one to fit style and color guide
*Accessories- skinny tie
“Ballet”
Shirt- white t shirt, tank top or white button-down shirt (NO logos)
Pants- straight legged blue jeans (no holes) Prefer light wash.
Socks- white tube or crew socks
Shoes- White or tan Converse, Keds or other canvas shoe
