Easter Egg Hunt with a Twist!
Happy Easter from Super Troopers with Laya Healthcare! We have some Easter Egg Hunt ideas
to help your pupils have an ‘eggstra’ special time this Easter! The whole class can get involved in
preparing and taking part in your Easter Egg Hunt.
Tips:
›› P
upils can make their own eggs using papier mâché
and can then enjoy designing and painting them
›› Always take a record of how many eggs you’re hiding
›› Set boundary areas for your hunt
Easter Egg Treasure Hunt:
Create an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt where everybody
has to follow a map with marked trails to find the various
locations of the hidden eggs. Older classes can be
divided into groups, creating their own maps which can
be exchanged with other groups for them to follow. Ask
the pupils to assign an activity to each trail, for example,
bunny hop, jump, frog leap, skip, do jumping jacks. They
can leave a written clue with each egg which leads the
hunters to the next location. If the weather is bad you
could try this in the classroom or PE hall.

Assign letters to pupils to paint on some eggs. Hide the
eggs and when the hunters have collected them all, ask
them, in groups, to unscramble their collected letters to
make some words. See which group can make the most
words with their letters or which group has written the
longest word. Alternatively, paint letters on the eggs to
make an Easter message, for example, ‘Happy Easter
from the Easter Bunny!’. After the hunt, ask the class
to work co-operatively together to unscramble all their
letters to find the hidden Easter message.

Eater Egg Timer Hunt:
Easter Eggstacle Course:
Colour code the eggs. Then divide the class
into groups assigning each team a colour.
Time each team as they search for their eggs.
The team with the quickest time is the winner.
Alternatively, you could repeat this a few
times, hiding the eggs in different locations
each time and challenging the teams to beat
their own times. You can really get the older
pupils involved by asking each group to hide
other teams’ eggs.
Create a simple obstacle course indoors or
outdoors. Divide the class into teams. Give
each team member an egg and spoon to hold
as they complete the course. If pupils drop
an egg at an obstacle the whole team must
complete that challenge again. Time each
team and see which one makes it around the
course in the quickest time without dropping
their eggs.
Easter Egg Station Hunt:
We hope you have ‘eggstra’ special
fun on your Easter Egg Hunt!
Take your traditional Easter Egg Hunt and add
some active fun! Place a message or image at
each hidden location (station) indicating an
activity, so that as the eggs are discovered,
the hunters have an activity challenge to
complete before they continue on their hunt,
for example, ‘Throw and catch your egg ten
times’, ‘Pass your egg from hand to hand
around your body’, ‘Do ten bunny hops’,
‘Jog on the spot’. You could ask younger
pupils to draw images of activities which you
can place at the various locations. Older pupils
can write instructions for activities to be done
at each location.
