Dawna plays harp in a rhythm-driven style, which results in an atypical harp
sound. Stereotypical harp glissandos aren’t on the map.
Her clear lyric soprano voice leads the charge with power and heart, and her
lyrics lean in a whimsical Bohemian direction. She’s new-age-minstrel-poet
minus cliche breathy preciousness.
Often accompanied live with Cello by Jessica Doerner and Udu / Percussion
by Ben Johnson, she delivers hypnotic spoken word pieces that submerge listeners into liminal dream states.
Ben Johnson’s interpretations of tabla rhythms come into play on his Nigerian Udu (clay drum) and awaken a pan-world element, alongside the acoustic
classical bed of Jessica Doerner’s cello and Dawna’s celtic harp.

HarpPixie: Music to Illuminate. ‘Transcendent’ and ‘magic’ are the two most
common adjectives used to describe this music. Each song leaves the listener
standing ankle-deep in mossy introspection, breathing a little deeper than before. Silence unfurls like a fern leaf, when the final chords settle.
