Hundreds of people turned out for a block party held Saturday night
in downtown Kittanning.
Dizzy Lizzie’s Restaurant held its first block party, closing the street
from Market down South McKean. Hundreds of patrons showed up for
the outdoor buffet and entertainment from as far away as Beaver and St.
Marys, Pennsylvania.
The day started early at 4AM as the restaurant opened for
approximately 60 members of the film crew working on the latest
production, “One for the Money.”
According to Mike the Chef, food preparation for the block party
began at 9:30 AM preparing the baked beans and cole slaw. Later, case
after case of ribs and chicken were coated with a special barbecue
sauce made of 15 herbs and spices known only the Fred Bonello himself.
“It is a special recipe with a special touch that makes the chicken tender,”
Mike said. The meat was then grilled to perfection over two charcoalfired pits.

Ford City High School’s Senior
High Student Council and National
Honor Society joined together for the

teachers arrived at school for their

smiling students eager to help the
teachers. The students offered a valet
service which would help move boxes
in and out of teacher’s rooms, set up
computers and decorate bulletin
boards and rooms. The students were
available for all teachers and helped
with anything that they were asked
to do. The teachers enjoyed having
the help and the students enjoyed
