It is truly a pleasure to host an event that recognizes the efforts of local residents, businesses and communities. Since becoming a Tree City USA, Westlake has planted over 5,000 trees and invested nearly 5 million dollars to assure a healthy, green and attractive urban forest environment for all our citizens and visitors to enjoy. Westlake has a long history of promoting the planting, maintenance and preservation of trees throughout our community. We certainly recognize the importance that trees have in our everyday life by providing shade, cleaner air, habitats and beauty just to name a few. Westlake is proud to be recognized as a Tree City USA for twenty-five years. We take great comfort in joining cities, towns and villages that hold urban forestry in such high regard. Our residents, staff and community are pleased to host this year’s event and are grateful for this outstanding attendance. We stand ready to assist you in making this a very productive, rewarding and enjoyable day as we celebrate and recognize the achievements and successes of our fellow colleagues. Sincerely, Dennis M.
