Meet Komen Austin’s Spring 2015 Interns
Erin Thompson
My name is Erin Thompson and I am one of the Education and
Community Outreach Interns. I am a second year master’s student
in the Health Behavior and Health Education program at UT Austin.
During this internship, I would like to learn how a non-profit
organization functions, and I’d like to gain experience working with
members of the community. After I graduate, I would like to work for
a non-profit organization or for the state. In my free time, I like to
read and go to the movies.

about the whole perspective of the non-profit sector from
beginning to end, connect and engage with my community,
and ultimately make a difference in the fight against breast

Hi I'm Rachel and I am working as an operations intern for Komen Austin

majoring in Health Promotion & Kinesiology with a specialization as a

after graduation and seek a career in a health and fitness field. I am looking
forward to learning the business side of Komen and how a non-profit runs
behind the scenes. I am also looking forward to networking through my
internship and getting to know the knowledgeable staff. I work at a doggy
day care in my spare time, embrace an active lifestyle, and love to spend
time with my family and friends.
