Othello Final Assignment Objective: Create a book jacket for the play Othello Directions: Jacket must be illustrated. It must include a front and back cover and an inner jacket the folds inside the cover (doesn’t need to literally fold, but would be the part of the dust jacket that covers the inside cover. Front: Include Title/Author written in large letters—choose carefully the font or how you choose to script both the title and author’s name. You must include an illustration of some kind on the cover/front. Back: Smaller title and author and quotes of critical acclaim for the book— endorsements as to why a reader should choose to read this book. Include information about characters and plot in your critical acclaim for the play. Demonstrate your knowledge of the play through these critics’ voices. Inside dust jacket (front/left): Synopsis of the story written in a way to hook or intrigue the reader. Briefly, what is the story about written in an exciting and engaging manner? You are using this synopsis to sell the book. Back inside dust jacket: Brief biography of the author along with a picture of him. When completed, your cover should look like the cover of a real book. Use a real dust over/book jacket as the model for your own creation. Presentation: Each student will briefly present his or her jacket to the class and explain the choices made in design, etc. Book Spine: Include the title/author on the spine of the book jacket.
