Hello Moose Hill Families!
It is hard to believe that our February
Vacation is over. With so many wonderful
events to look back on and so many more
ahead I’m thrilled that all of you are able to
enjoy this with us…in one way or another!
Thanks to all of our Moose Hill Friends for
putting together such wonderful treats, gifts
and special notes for us during Volunteer
Appreciation Week! All the love they threw
our way helped us forget about all the snow
and bone-chilling cold!
None of this would be possible without the
time, support and resources you have all so
graciously given so far…THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Have Lots of Kids Stuff, And No Time For a Yard Sale or Looking for Bargain Toys
to Purchase—Bikes, Games, Little Tikes????
The Annual Toy Swap/Sale will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Matthew
Thornton School Gym. This is a great opportunity to sell children’s and baby’s items
that are no longer being used, but that are still in good shape. It is a consignment sale
with the price being set by the owner. The owner receives two-thirds of the money for
which the item sells and the Londonderry Women’s Club keeps the remaining one-third.
This year, proceeds will benefit the YMCA OF GREATER LONDONDERRY.
Registration forms with complete instructions can be found at the Leach Library.
Used children’s items in good condition may be sold (infant-16 years old):
Baby equipment (bassinets, strollers, etc.) Sporting goods, Halloween Costumes, Games,
Books and Wooden Puzzles.
Stuffed animals, cribs, car seats and regular clothing cannot be accepted.
Registration is from 7:30 am-9:00 am and the sale is from 9:30 am-12:00 noon on
This is a great place to pick up toys, etc. for your children that are in great shape,
but don’t have a big price tag and benefits a great cause!

Why Join the PTA
What is PTA? Why join PTA? The number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child. In doing
so, you also help your school. But there are many more PTA advantages:

Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.

Discover Great Resources. The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.

Tap into a Network. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and
discussing issues that are on your mind. You an share ideas, concerns, and experiences.

Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your
child and all children in the community.

Speak Up. PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make
positive changes. Local PTAs play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based
programs, and social events.

Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on
education.

Enjoy Substantial Benefits. Individuals and local units can take advantage of a host of benefits from PTA
membership including discounts and offers from member benefits providers and sponsors, magazine subscriptions,
leadership training, e-newsletters and much more.
For less than 3 cents a day, you can become a PTA member, joining more than 4 million other people who share your interest
in issues affecting children. Everyone—parents, educators, students and other citizens active in their schools and
communities—is invited to join our not-for-profit parent association.
Find a Local PTA
There are over 25,000 PTA units across the country, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Europe, and Puerto Rico. Contact your State PTA
to find a local unit near you. Contact National PTA® at [email protected] or (800) 307- 4PTA, (800) 307-4PTA (4782) for more
information.
The PTA Advantage
The PTA’s nationwide network provides parents with the forum and tools to collectively influence the decisions that affect
children not only at their schools, but also throughout their districts, within their states, and across the nation. This mission is
unique to the PTA.
Benefits of PTA Membership
The incredible values offered to members of PTA from a range of generous providers.
Top Schools Supported by PTAs
The latest U.S. News & World Report ranking of America's best high schools shows that six of the top 10 are PTA schools.
