Sammy is packing a teddy bear, to go to grandma's house. Sammy says "I'm here" "Here at grandma's house!" Directions 1. Print each page from the title page to the end page. Place the female velcro (smooth) in each square. 2. Print the home pics 15-18. Place the male velcro (rough) on the back of each picture. 3. To make my books last longer, I usually print on card stock and laminate the pages before binding and putting on the velcro. Extension Activities 1. Since most children enjoy packing a suitcase, I use an old suitcase to place infant size items for identifying and packing. 2. The students identify the items to each picture and place in the suitcase. They can also choose their favorite item. 3. For more severe students, they use the overlay to identify the items to be placed in the suitcase. 4. I will usually have my young students bring a small shoe box to cover with paper and use a rope for a handle on a suitcase. I either collect items from the dollar store or ask parents to send a few of the items to school (comb, socks, book, teddy bear, etc.) 5. The student will identify in what room the items are found and how they are used. 6. I will also make a black and white copy to send home for the parents to read with their child. 7. For higher functioning students, we talk about what might be packed for other types of vacations (beach, mountains, etc,).
