Idea Zone Theme: Space Inventors Oct. 1st – 31st · All Ages · All Day · Become the ultimate extraterrestrial engineer as you build out-of-this-world inventions.
Minecraft Mania Oct. 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th · Ages 7 – 12 · 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. · Make friends, discover new secrets and tricks, and learn how you can be a Minecraft
designer, adventurer, and even master while exploring customized worlds and scenarios. Program fee: $20 MOSI Member fee: $15
Blast Off! Oct. 4th or 6th · All Ages • 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. · Show off your creativity and practice your engineering skills by developing ways to safely guide your rocket
back to Earth. Pre-registration and payment required at least two weeks in advance. Program fee: $21 MOSI Member fee: $16
Manufacturing Day at MOSI Oct. 7th · All Ages · All Day · Join us in IdeaZone® as we roll up our sleeves and discover how things get built in hands-on fun factory
activities as part of the national celebration of manufacturing for all ages.
Coastal Trekkers Oct. 8th · Ages 8 & Up • 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. · Dissect squids and sharks to learn some comparative anatomy, observe organisms with microscopes,
collect and study marine life with seine nets, and analyze the ocean’s water using high-tech sensor probes.

An Afternoon With an Astronaut Oct. 8th · All Ages · Two sessions: 12 p.m. or 3 p.m · Hear the story of rescuing the Hubble Space Telescope from the only person
to fly on all five space shuttles, Astronaut Story Musgrave! Then experience the IMAX® film Hubble on MOSI’s five-story screen. Tickets: $15 MOSI Members: $10

Tie Dye and Batik Basics Oct. 11th • Ages 5 – 7 • 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. OR Ages 8 & Up • 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. · Bring a T-shirt to class and learn how to make a tie dye design,

National Hispanic Scientist of the Year: Cosmic Collisions and Dinosaurs Oct. 23rd · All Ages · 12:30p.m. – 3 p.m. · Dr. Adriana Ocampo, a NASA planetary
geologist and National Hispanic Scientist of the Year, takes you back 66 million years to the end of the dinosaurs and explains how she discovered the crater from
the asteroid that likely caused the catastrophe. Then experience the IMAX® film Dinosaurs Alive! on MOSI’s five-story screen. Tickets: $15 MOSI Members: $10
Space Pioneers Oct. 25th or 27th · Preschool Program • 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. · Learn about the planets and stars as we discover why the moon has phases, and blast off
to The Saunders Planetarium for a private show. Parents must accompany children. Pre-registration and payment are required at least two weeks in advance.

Rocket Mania Oct. 25th or 27th · Homeschool Program • 2 p.m – 4 p.m. · Use air pressure and chemical reactions to launch various models. Visit The Saunders
Planetarium to see how rockets launch probes into orbit and learn about the history of rockets. Program fee: $21 MOSI Member fee: $16
