How to make a model dragon
What you need:
Salt
Step 1
Flour
Mix the flour and salt, the ratio
is 2 parts flour, 1 part salt. So if
you had 100 grams of flour you
would need 50 grams of salt.
A bit of water
Step 2
Next you slowly add water until it has a consistency much like play dough
Use this dragon for
ideas.
Step 3
After that separate the dough into balls of different sizes, 4
similar sized balls for legs, 2 large balls for wings, a smallish
ball for a head, a quite big ball for a body and a medium
sized one for a tail.
Step 4
Finally assemble your dragon and leave it to dry.
The Roman Empire
Legions
Roman democracy
The Roman Empire was
the most developed
civilisation of all time.
They were the ultimate
fighters and politicians
and, nearly 1000 years
later, are still the best
the world has ever seen.
They conquered Italy,
England, Greece and
many other countries.
Roman armies (called
legions) fought with
incredible skill.
However, left handers
where not allowed to
join legions as each
man’s shield covered
half of his own body
and half of the person’s
next to him. Left
handers held their
shield in the opposite
hand and would have
ruined the order.
Rome was ruled by
the senate, a group
of elected citizens
that stood for a
group of people’s
views. At first the
senate was a group
of 100 advisors for
the king. Later kings
expanded the
group to 500
senators. After the
kings were
overthrown the
senate became the
ruling body, led by
a dictator. This
practice was
stopped when
Caesar was
murdered and was
followed by the
patriarchal system
of emperors
SPQR was the symbol of
Rome and stood for
senatus populusque
romanus, the senate and
the people of Rome.
Fun fact!
The Emperor Caligula loved chickens,
his favourite was called Rome. When
someone told him that Rome was lost
he was heartbroken, until he realised
they meant the city, not the chicken.

The French revolution
Introduction
The Estates General
For a peasant life in the 18th
century France was pretty
miserable. There were too
many people and not
enough food for everyone to
eat.
After helping America in their
war of independence, Louis XVI
was deep in debt. So in 1789 he
called a meeting of the estates
general (a kind of parliament),
trying to persuade them to help
pay his debts. The estates general
refused, and in return Louis
attempted to shut it down.
However, the poor members
took their meeting to a local
indoor tennis court, 576 out of
577 members made the tennis
court oath-an act which
questioned the power of the
king.
In addition to this, the poor
had to pay rent to farm on
the local landlord’s land.
When King Louis XVI came
to the throne he issued
many taxes to the poor and
none to the rich. This caused
anger and unrest among the
people, and the
overthrowing of the
monarchy first came to
mind. That was when the
revolution really began.
