FPC Preschool
Starting February 1st, FPC Pre-
school now accepts debit/credit cards and
offers an online payment option. Whether
you want to pay for your child’s tuition,
registration fee, lunch bunch, field trip or
make a donation to our preschool scholarship fund, our secure site allows you to
make your payment easily.
Go to the preschool’s website at
www.fpcstatesville.org, and click on preschool at the top right corner. Then scroll
down to payment and follow the steps to
make a one time payment or reoccurring
payments. Many preschool parents have
requested this service, and we are happy to
provide it for those who will find it a convenience.

Mrs. Karen Chandgie
2 Day 1 year old class & 3 Day 2 year old class
Mrs. Chandgie grew up in Davidson, NC. However, she attended
Air Academy High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado because
her Dad was there on sabbatical. She earned her Early Childhood
Education degree at UNC Charlotte and moved to Statesville one
year after she married her husband, Scott, a Statesville native.
They have one daughter named Lauren, who is 16 years old and attended FPC Preschool. Her favorite color is sky blue and she loves
going to the beach with her family. Mrs. Chandgie and her family have a cat named
Lucky that found their family over 13 years ago. Some of her favorite hobbies include
reading and cooking. She has always loved being around children and started babysitting at age 10. Her favorite thing about teaching is the energy that the children bring
and being able to watch them grow and learn new things. She loves their enthusiasm
about everything. Mrs. Chandgie has been at FPC Preschool for 13 years. We are extremely lucky to have Mrs. Chandgie as a member of our FPC Preschool family. She truly loves the children and they learn so much from her. Thank you Mrs. Chandgie for all
that you do! We appreciate you so much!

We will be working on Valentine’s Day crafts this month.
Our sweet babies have made such a cute class this year.
They are growing up so fast! We have a new student, Halu
Shimizu. We will have our Valentine’s Day party on 2/11.
Happy Birthday Jordan!

We will be talking about Groundhog’s Day, did he see
his shadow, and what does that mean? Also, we will
be doing a lot of art work using hearts. We will be
reading books by Laura Numeroff and Dr. Seuss. Our
letters this month are G, V, R and F. Our Valentine’s
Day parties will be February 11th and 12th.
3 Day 4s
Our class will continue working on letter D and our dinosaur unit from the missed snow days. We will then learn
about letters V and U. We will talk about Valentine’s
Day and our Valentine exchange and party will be on Friday, February 12th. We will also talk about George
Washington and Abraham Lincoln as we work on letter U
and learn about our United States!
This month we will learn about the letter Vv. We will
also learn all about Valentine’s Day. We will be working
on Valentine’s crafts and will have our Valentine’s Day
party on Thursday, February 11th. We will also continue
working on counting (1-10), colors and shapes.
3 Day 2s
Our letters this month are V and F. Our Letterland characters are Firefighter Fred and Vicky Violet. We will learn
about Groundhog’s Day, Presidents Day and talk about Dental Health Month. This class is so smart and learning everything we teach so quickly. Our Valentine’s Day party will be
on 2/12. Happy Birthday Ava and Sam!
5 Day 4s
We start out the month with a unit on outer space (letter O).
We will learn about the planets, sun, stars, moons, astronauts and rockets. Week 2 is Valentine’s week (letter V).
We will learn about this special day and also about the post
office and how mail gets from one place to another. Week 3
is X for x-ray. We will learn about the people who keep us (&
pets) healthy and what we need to do to be healthy. The last
week of the month we will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. We
will read many of his books and learn about rhyming words.
Our Valentine’s party will be on 2/12 and our field trip to
Rescue Ranch will be on 2/22. Happy Birthday Tilly Claire!
