which package you require (see
page 6 for full details) and email
us at pressratecard@london2012.
com. We will contact you directly
to arrange the order.

Standard power in the UK is supplied at nominal voltage of 230V single phase
or 400V three phase.
All electrical equipment supplied through the Press Rate Card will include a
standard domestic BS 1363 three-pin fused plug.
Customers wishing to bring their own appliances to the UK may need adaptors

Internet access
How to get online at London 2012
There will be cabled internet access points at all press and photo workrooms
in the Main Press Centre and the Venue Media Centres (VMCs) and at each
tabled position in the press tribunes (and some non-tabled positions). Wi-Fi will
be available in media conference rooms and media lounges.
The internet prices will not increase (but order now to avoid the queues at
Games time. You won’t be invoiced until 2012).
The Press Rate Card offers three internet options. The Gold or Silver package is
recommended for photographers/picture transmission.

Access locations
You can access the internet at a range of designated locations within venues,
both through available Ethernet cables in the press and photo workrooms and
tabled positions in the press tribunes, as well as wirelessly in media conference
rooms and lounges where Wi-Fi coverage is available.
In addition, the following associated RJ45 socket points are available which
allow you to access the internet at a specific location of your choice. Please
note that you must also order a Gold, Silver or Bronze account for these two
products to work:
Catalogue price1
T54102
£248
Photographer’s dedicated RJ45 socket (in a specific location
at a competition venue)
For photographers only
This is specifically for photographers who need to be able to file
from a photo position on deadline. It allows you to request a RJ45
connection for cabled internet connectivity within a photo position
in one of the venues. This service must be ordered via the Rate
Card.
Ordering this service does not guarantee a photo position. All
orders must be validated by Press Operations. If the position and
organisation are approved we will assign the specific location
at the requested photo position. Timely arrival at the session and
holding a ticket for high demand ticketed sessions are always
necessary.
To be clear, to order internet access to the photo positions of three
different sports, photographers will need to place three T54102
orders specifying the venue for each order and also have a Rate
Card internet access account (see page 6).
To order this product, study the schematic map and descriptions to
see the approximate placement of the photo positions where this
service is available. The map can be found on the Press Operations
extranet site, in the Photo Operations tab.

myInfo+
Familiar to journalists and photographers who have covered recent Games,
fixed Info terminals have traditionally provided valuable information such as
athlete quotes, news, previews, results, media conference coverage, schedules
and around 10,000 biographies. While preserving all of these features, the service now known as Info+ has benefited from a radical overhaul,
rendering the new service, myInfo+, even more useful and easy to navigate.
The improvements include:
–– Easier search and access to all Games information, notably news, results,
schedules and more
–– Near real-time scoring for all sports
–– Downloadable results books
–– Much-requested ’cut and paste’ facility
–– New screen layout
–– Intuitive search facility
–– As part of the Gold internet package, all this is available on your own
computer for only £150
On your own computer? That’s right – with myInfo+ the same information found
on fixed Info+ terminals located around the press and photo workrooms is now
available on your own computer, accessible anywhere you have an internet
connection, inside and outside Games venues – even at your hotel.
While a range of internet connection services is offered in the Press Rate Card,
myInfo+ with a standard internet account, at only £20 more than the Silver
internet package, is by far the best value for money.
Internet access details
The internet access service is provided as a data communication service
and is intended for data traffic only. The service uses shared bandwidth and
bandwidth for any specific user is not guaranteed.

–– Authentication onto service required for access.

and is not to be shared with other parties. If at any time it is necessary to

with the ordering organisation’s contact person to discuss the reasons for the
suspension, and available remedies.
Internet accounts
–– Organisations can use the individual accounts as they want, with the
limitation that the system will not accept two users with the same account at the same time.

This service is ideal for customer groups who wish to deploy their own LAN
infrastructure within their dedicated workspace and want to connect devices on that LAN to the internet.
Features included

Olympic Data Feed
The Olympic Data Feed (ODF) provides access to Games results and
information based on two data types:
–– A specific point in time: Games results, competition schedules, medals,
records and weather.
–– Real time: results, including statistics, weather and medals.
The feed is XML-based with messages pushed for all 36 Olympic disciplines
from Games systems to the customer’s receiving system using HTTP POST.
Customers are responsible for receiving, processing and using messages within
their own systems. The customer may choose to receive data for one or more
disciplines, and point-in-time data only or both point-in-time and real time.
The feed is delivered to customers at the Main Press Centre through a network
port installation.
Customers connecting from outside an Olympic Games venue to receive ODF
may choose to do so via their own connection to the internet.
Customers requiring a physical connection from outside an Olympic Games
venue to receive ODF should order the World Connect Service (non-standard
order).
Features included
–– Access to the ODF backup message store to enable retrieval of messages
previously sent using FTP over SSH or HTTP POST over the internet.
–– Supporting documentation including descriptions of XML message content
and data structures, sample messages and common codes.
–– Support during testing and operational periods through a dedicated English
speaking service hotline.
–– The cabling and the port will be provided by LOCOG and will be redundant
though the redundant cable/port will not be active unless needed in the case
of failure.
–– Service may alternatively be delivered through the internet, it being
clearly understood that LOCOG cannot accept any responsibility for the
performance of either the customer’s connection to the internet through their
own service provider, or for the performance of the internet in general.

Audiovisual services
The Cable TV (CATV) service comprises various combinations of channel
content depending on the venue.
The CATV service at the Main Press Centre will comprise 40 Olympic ‘live sports’ feeds produced in the Olympic venues where available. It also
includes public and commercial TV channels based on UK Freeview, which
typically includes 50 TV and 24 radio channels covering news, sport,
entertainment and music.
If you want to bring your own
televisions please check with us
that they are compatible with the
CATV service.
Channels will typically be broadcast in standard definition, although high
definition will be supported where available, and presented either as
terminated co-axial cable or TV socket on a wall plate.
A set top box is not required.
The CATV service is designed for use with the designated TVs and will not work
correctly with televisions generally available in the UK.
The service can be configured to support multiple TVs, eg in a private office.
This should be requested as a non-standard order.
Notes
–– The CATV service is provided as a private television signal distribution
service for use exclusively within the 2012 Games venues. Purchasing this
service does not grant the user the right to store, copy or re-distribute the
service or its contents, nor does it imply any content rights beyond the right
to view.
–– Examples of prohibited use would include, but are not limited to: connecting
the service to signal splitting equipment or a re-broadcasting facility for local
or remote distribution; converting the content of the service for retransmission
through alternate mediums such as the internet; or connecting the service to
incompatible equipment that causes service degradation for other users.
–– Copyright and creative control is held by the content owners; this service
serves only as a distribution service and the service provider is not
responsible for the content.

Mobile telephony
services
You can keep the branded
handsets as a souvenir. Top-ups for pre-paid services can be purchased from the Rate Card desk.
The Olympic Family mobile telephony service will provide seamless voice
coverage throughout the Games venues and surrounding locations. This service
supports enhanced levels of voice and, in specific locations, data capabilities
with access to high speed Wi-Fi data connections for supported Samsung
handsets. The facility offers access to voicemail and international calling
services as standard.
The mobile service is teamed with high quality Samsung handsets on an open
operating platform. The handset features differ through the basic, standard and
premium models, but include SMS text messaging, MMS multimedia messaging
mobile browsing, internet access, camera, video and MP3 with long life battery
life (data availability is based on your call plan). The basic handset uses hard
keys for ease of use, and the standard and premium handsets include the
Wireless Olympic Works (WOW). The premium handset uses touch screen
technology on the award winning Amoled screen.
This handset is sold, not rented, therefore customers may take the handset away
with them after the Games.
Data connectivity service levels are not guaranteed and network service terms
and conditions will apply.

Non-standard
technology orders
Non-standard requests are the mechanism by which Rate Card customers
obtain products and services which are not fully met by the published catalogue
items. Each and every non-standard order request will be subject to a feasibility
assessment by LOCOG. If the non-standard request is possible then a formal
quotation will be issued, otherwise the request will be turned down.
Examples of valid non-standard technology orders are:
–– Products and services delivered to unusual locations requiring specialised
cabling.
–– Products and services that require additional dialogue, such as:
–– ISDN telephones
–– Analogue PSTN (phone and fax) lines
–– xDSL services
–– Personal Mobile Radio (PMR), analogue and digital
–– World connect (leased lines)
–– Venue connect (connections between Games venues)
You can quickly and easily register
your non-standard technology
requests via the Rate Card website.

Radio frequency –
Spectrum
During the London 2012 Olympic Games all users planning to use wireless
devices (eg, walkie talkies) must submit their requirement to LOCOG prior to
the deadline of 31 December 2011 via the Spectrum Order Portal.
This can be accessed via the rate card website at http://ratecard.london2012.com
Users are strongly encouraged to apply early due to limited availability of radio
resources within the Olympic venues. Once the request has been reviewed
and approved, a radio licence will be issued outlining the specification of the
assigned radio frequencies.
Upon arrival in London customers are required to have their wireless equipment
validated at the Main Press Centre spectrum equipment validation centre
located in the Service Centre. The validation centre team will examine the
wireless equipment to ensure that it matches the specifications outlined in the
radio licence. All wireless equipment must be programmed ahead of time with
the frequency assigned. Once validation is completed, the wireless equipment
will have a colour-coded label affixed to it that indicates it is permitted to
operate in a particular venue. Failure to apply for radio frequency coordination
and absence of a label will deny entry of that wireless equipment to the venue.
Individuals who wish to use mobile phones, laptops, PDAs or smart phones do
not need to register their equipment via this process.
For more information and
support please contact

Management team at

1.
General information
1.1. Overview
The London 2012 Press Rate Card offers a detailed list of products and services
that Press Organisations (‘Customers’) may order from LOCOG to assist their
operations during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The Rate Card team will provide a complete end-to-end service to customers:
ordering, invoicing, payment, procurement, delivery, installation, commissioning,
on-site maintenance and service, collection and removal.
This Press Rate Card details our products and all aspects of our services.
The Rate Card programme is operated on a cost-recovery basis and is not a
source of profit for LOCOG.
1.2. Note on Paralympic Games
This Press Rate Card covers the supply of products and services for the London
2012 Olympic Games. Prices, deposits and terms and conditions all refer to
the Olympic Games.
A separate Press Rate Card is available for the supply of products and services
for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Cancellations or amendments after the Normal Order Period may also incur
fees (see section 7).
All late or amended orders submitted after the Normal Order Period will be
processed in order of receipt. Products may not be available.
LOCOG will allocate all products and services based on available inventory.
The ability to fulfil Late and Games-time orders may be limited.
Note on Games-time Order Period: the MPC opens on 27 June 2012, but the
Rate Card system will not generate invoices for orders placed after 30 April
2012. As a result, these orders will require immediate payment and LOCOG
will send or give a receipt to the Customer upon payment (see section 6.4).

2. Rental periods
Unless stated otherwise, the standard Olympic Games rental period for all
items in the Press Rate Card is the 30 days from 15 July to 13 August 2012
(inclusive) (the Standard Period).
Should an item be used for less than the 30-day Standard Period, for whatever
reason, no discount will be given to the Press Rate Card price.
Items may be available to rent outside the Standard Period, but not prior to 27 June 2012. Private office space and accompanying power supply and
furniture rented in the Main Press Centre outside the Standard Period will incur
no extra charge. Extended rental for some items may incur additional charges
as shown:
–– Vehicle rental may be extended outside the Standard Period, with a charge
for each additional seven days, or part thereof.
–– Internet services and dedicated internet access rental may be extended
outside the Standard Period, with a charge for each additional seven days,
or part thereof.
–– All other technology items rented for any length of time outside the Standard
Period will incur an extension charge as shown, with a fixed price regardless
of the length of extension.
Customers who will cover both the Olympic and Paralympic Games and who wish to extend Olympic rental agreements to include the Paralympic
Games period may do so at an incremental price rather than the listed
Paralympic Games price. Details will be published in the Paralympic Games Press Rate Card.

3. Order confirmation
All Press Rate Card orders will be reviewed by LOCOG’s Rate Card and Press
Operations teams.
LOCOG will confirm acceptance or non-acceptance of orders via email.
LOCOG will fulfil orders only when full payment has been received and subject
to the other provisions of these terms.
LOCOG reserves the right to amend the Press Rate Card or provide reasonable
substitutions after an order has been accepted. Customers will be notified of
any such circumstances. In these circumstances, the Customer has the right
not to accept the substitution and cancel the order, incurring no cancellation
charges. This applies during all order periods.
4.
Deposits
4.1. Loss and Damage deposits
Loss and Damage (L&D) deposits, where applicable, are listed next to the items
in the Press Rate Card. The L&D deposit listed is the maximum amount that
LOCOG will deduct in the event of any loss or damage to that item.
The total L&D deposit payable will be the sum of the individual Loss and
Damage deposits for each item ordered, capped as follows:
Total L&D deposit for items ordered
L&D deposit payable
Up to £20,000
100 per cent calculated L&D deposit
£20,000 and over
£20,000
One deposit invoice, covering all L&D and Usage deposits and covering
all orders placed during the Normal and Late Order Periods, will be issued
between 1 and 15 May 2012 (see section 6.4).
LOCOG will make every reasonable effort to refund the L&D deposit, less
amounts compensating LOCOG for loss, theft or damage, no later than 31 October 2012.
If total damages for all items exceed the total L&D deposit paid, LOCOG may
recover the outstanding balance due by, firstly, setting off other monies it holds
in respect of the Customer and, in the event any balance remains outstanding,
by issuing an invoice to the Customer. The Customer agrees to pay any such
invoice within 30 days of the invoice date.
If this check-out procedure is not completed by the Customer, LOCOG reserves
the right to conduct a damage assessment in the Customer’s absence and retain
any deposits as necessary (see section 9).
Olympic Press Rate Card
46
4.2. Usage deposits
Usage deposits, where applicable, are listed next to the telecommunication
services in the Press Rate Card.
The total Usage deposit will be the sum of the individual Usage deposits for
each telecommunication service ordered, and the total Usage deposit will be
capped as follows:
Total Usage deposit for items ordered
Usage deposit payable
Up to £20,000
100 per cent calculated Usage
deposit
£20,000 and over
£20,000 plus 25 per cent of the
amount over £20,000
One deposit invoice, covering all L&D and Usage deposits and covering
all orders placed during the Normal and Late order periods, will be issued
between 1 and 15 May 2012 (see section 6.4).
LOCOG will claim any or all of the Usage deposit against the actual
telecommunication service charges incurred by the Customer for all telephone
lines and/or mobile phone services ordered.
If the total of the actual usage does not exceed the Usage deposit paid,
LOCOG will calculate the refund using the difference between the Usage
deposit paid and the actual usage. LOCOG will make every reasonable effort
to send this refund no later than 31 October 2012.
If total usage exceeds the total Usage deposit paid, LOCOG may recover the
outstanding balance due by, firstly, setting off other monies it holds in respect of the Customer and, in the event any balance remains outstanding, by issuing
an invoice to the Customer. The Customer agrees to pay any such invoice
within 30 days of the invoice date.
5. Non-standard requests
Customers may request products or services not listed in the Press Rate Card as a non-standard request via the form on the Rate Card website.
Customers are encouraged to place non-standard requests as early as possible
to increase the likelihood that LOCOG will be able to fulfil them.
If LOCOG is able to fulfil a non-standard request, a price quote will be
provided. LOCOG will consider the order confirmed once the price quote has been accepted by the Customer.
Unless otherwise agreed between LOCOG and the Customer, treatment of
invoicing, payments, cancellation fees, deposits and refunds will be the same
as for standard catalogue orders.

Prices and payment
6.1. Prices
All prices, deposits and fees in the Press Rate Card are quoted in Pounds
Sterling (GBP).
All prices quoted in the Press Rate Card are only valid for orders submitted
before the deadline of the Normal Order Period.
LOCOG reserves the right to amend any price in this Press Rate Card, subject
to approval by the International Olympic Committee. The Rate Card website
will be updated accordingly and any such amendments will be communicated
promptly to Customers.
6.2. Value Added Tax (VAT)
The level of standard rate VAT in the UK increased from 4 January 2011 – it is now 20 per cent.
All prices, deposits and fees in the Press Rate Card have been published
exclusive of VAT. VAT will be added as appropriate at the prevailing rate at the time of invoice. LOCOG will maintain communication with Customers on this point.
6.3. Insurance
Insurance will be included in the price for all vehicles rented from LOCOG.
All other prices quoted do not include insurance. All risk of loss, theft, misuse of or damage to products and misuse of services from acceptance on arrival to return to LOCOG will be the responsibility of the Customer.
6.4. Invoicing and payment terms
Any orders submitted during the Normal Order Period and accepted by
LOCOG will be invoiced in January 2012. (Customers wishing to be invoiced
before this time should contact the Rate Card team.)
Any orders submitted during the Late Order Period will be invoiced following
acceptance of the order by LOCOG, and no later than 15 May 2012.
One separate deposit invoice, covering all Loss and Damage and Usage
deposits and covering all orders placed during the Normal and Late Order
Periods, will be issued between 1 and 15 May 2012.
LOCOG may invoice the Customer on the basis of the Rate Card order alone in the absence of a formal purchase order from the Customer.
All invoices must be paid within 30 days of the invoice date. LOCOG will fulfil
orders only when full payment has been received.
Olympic Press Rate Card
48
Payment must be made by electronic transfer. Detailed electronic transfer
instructions will be provided with the invoice. The Customer is responsible for payment of all bank charges related to payments made to LOCOG (see section 11).
No invoices will be issued for Games-time orders. Games-time orders (and any
associated deposits) must be paid at the time of order. Games-time orders must
be paid by VISA, cash, or bank transfers. Receipts will be issued for all Gamestime payments received.
Please note that the Rate Card team will only accept a maximum of £10,000 in
total cash payments from any one customer organisation for the sale of goods.
This is to ensure LOCOG’s compliance with the Money Laundering Regulations
2007. The policy applies to the sale of items, not rental, and specifically
includes the sale of mobile phone handsets, prepaid top ups, prepaid VISA
cards and the sale of any consumables such as paper and toner cartridges.
7. Cancellations and amendments
If the Customer cancels or amends an order, the following fees will apply:
Cancellation or amendment date
Fee
On or before 31 December 2011
No fee
1 January 2012 to 30 April 2012
50 per cent of item price
1 May 2012 or later
100 per cent of item price
If LOCOG rejects or cancels all or any part of a Customer’s order, LOCOG
will refund any amounts already paid by the Customer in respect of such parts
of that order rejected or cancelled. Refunded amounts will either be applied to
future orders made, or refunded along with excess deposits after the Games.
8. Repairs and replacements
LOCOG will promptly repair (if feasible) or replace products ordered from the
Press Rate Card which LOCOG agrees are defective as long as the Customer
has not adjusted, serviced or made any repairs (other than modifications in
line with manufacturers’ instructions). The Customer must notify LOCOG at the
Main Press Centre Service Centre or a Venue Media Centre Help Desk, and the
Service Centre will create a work order for repair or replacement.

9.
Check-in and check-out procedures
9.1. Check-in (arrival)
Upon arrival, an authorised person from each Customer will be required
to confirm acceptance of all Press Rate Card products and services. This
confirmation, a countersigned copy of which will be given to the Customer,
will indicate the Customer’s acceptance of the respective delivery, and
acknowledgement of the correct installation, setup and working condition of all listed products. Thereafter, all risk of loss, theft or damage to the items will
be the Customer’s responsibility.
During the Games, additional deliveries of Press Rate Card products or services
will involve a similar confirmation procedure. This applies to new orders placed
during the Games, as well as maintenance, servicing, repair or replacement of products.
9.2. Check-out (departure)
Prior to departure, an authorised person from each Customer will be required
to confirm the return of all rented products to LOCOG. During this check-out process LOCOG will confirm whether products have been returned in a
satisfactory condition.
LOCOG will provide written confirmation that the process has been
satisfactorily completed and note any lost or damaged items (other than fair wear and tear) as part of the check-out process.
If this check-out procedure is not completed by the Customer, LOCOG reserves
the right to conduct an assessment in the Customer’s absence and retain any
deposits as necessary.
LOCOG reserves the right to set off any deposits it holds in respect of a
Customer against any other amount owing to LOCOG from that Customer.
10. Refunds
LOCOG will email Customers a confirmation of the total deposits paid by the
Customer, less the charges due for lost or damaged items and/or insufficient
Usage deposits, if any. LOCOG will inform the Customer of the amount to be
refunded to the Customer no later than 31 October 2012.
LOCOG will make every reasonable effort to pay all refunds or other monies
related to Press Rate Card owed to Customers no later than 31 October 2012.
All refunds will be paid in Pounds Sterling (GBP). LOCOG is responsible for
payment of all bank charges related to refunds made to Customers (see section 11).
Olympic Press Rate Card
50
11. Bank charges
All sums due to either party shall be payable in full without deduction for bank
charges or withholding of any kind. If Customers and LOCOG are required by
law to share bank charges, the Customer shall pay a sufficient amount to cover
all monies due to LOCOG as well as LOCOG’s share of the bank charges;
likewise, LOCOG shall pay a sufficient amount to cover all refund monies due
to the Customer as well as the Customer’s share of the bank charges.
12. Product-specific terms and conditions
Certain products and services may be subject to further terms and conditions
(eg, a fair usage policy for internet access). Further details will be published
alongside the relevant item in the Press Rate Card.

15. Ownership
All products ordered from the Press Rate Card will remain the property of
LOCOG or its suppliers, unless otherwise specified in the Press Rate Card.
Customers must keep products free from any claims and must return the
products to LOCOG prior to the Customer’s departure.
16. Guidelines for non-rights holders
The International Olympic Committee allocates accreditation to the non-rights
holding broadcasters (ENR) who must abide by the IOC News Access Rules.
Accordingly, the Rate Card website will reflect the ENR’s rights to order
products and services.
Only rights holders are permitted to film within Olympic Games venues and
to broadcast Olympic material. All E-category and ENR accredited media
are strictly forbidden from taking professional video equipment into Olympic
Games venues or from filming within Olympic venues. The broadcast of
Olympic Games material by E-category and ENR accredited media through the internet, mobile platform or other interactive media or electronic medium
and radio is strictly prohibited.
E-category and ENR accredited media are permitted to take and use
