Juniper Village at Naples Names
Mohsin Zafar, MD as New Medical Director
Naples, FL (September 30, 2010) – Effective October 1, 2010 Dr. Mohsin Zafar will be the new medical
director at Juniper Village at Naples Wellspring Memory Care community. Dr. Zafar has practiced Internal
Medicine for five years, two of which have been in Naples with a concentration in geriatric care.
“We are very fortunate to be able to partner with a physician who has specific knowledge in the care of the
elderly,” says Erin Sakmar, Executive Director of Juniper Village. “Our residents have concerns and needs that
require special attention and treatment, especially those who are memory impaired by Alzheimer’s disease or a
related dementia.”
Health problems that affect older adults include pain, falls, memory loss, incontinence, and medication side
effects in addition to regular health issues. In addition to these, Dr. Zafar has expertise in dealing with complex
chronic problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, dizziness, COPD and many other
disorders.
“Dr. Zafar can provide us with another important aspect of geriatric medicine in helping us evaluate our elderly
residents’ ability to care for themselves,” said Sakmar. “He will bring a medical perspective as to how much
intervention we may need to provide and help in medical discussions with family members.”
Dr. Zafar will provide a hands-on medical presence at Juniper Village. He will be seeing residents on Thursdays
and on call 24/7. Dr. Zafar’s office, Collier County Medical, Inc. is located at 870 111th Avenue North.
