Stitch a ¼” seam along one edge. Join the two corners of the top of the hat together and stitching with a strong thread, bring the needle through the inside of the hat at one corner and through the top of the other corner. Pull tight so that the corners meet at the center and tie off the thread inside hat. Cut the print fleece to the measurement used above and repeat the second step to form a tube for the cuff. Fold the cuff tube in half, wrong sides together. Matching the seams, stitch the cuff to the right side of the bottom edge of the hat. To make a pom-pom, cut a strip of fleece that is 4” x 24” for an adult hat or 3” x 12” for a child’s hat. Fold the pom-pom strip in half widthwise and draw a line down the center of the fabric lengthwise. Cut ½” strips to the left and right of the line leaving an uncut center of about ¼”. Roll up the strip of fabric, then thread a needle with strong thread. Bring the needle through the center of the roll and wrap the thread tightly around the center of the roll several times.
