What would you say to people
yet to discover the region?
Come here and visit the region!
Seek out some producers you
haven't heard of and you'll be
pleasantly surprised.
What is your favourite summer
wine and food match?
It would have to be our new
2010 Methode Traditonnelle
from Orange - a blend of
pinot meunier, pinot noir and
chardonnay, with five years on
yeast lees. Best enjoyed with
seafood. Anything from oysters
and scallops to a whole fish
- whatever you can get your
hands on!

HIGHLAND
HERITAGE
ORANGE
ORANGE
Winemaker: Ben Crossing
Which varietals are you seeing
thrive right now?
We have a diverse range of
wines in our portfolio and
are seeing some lesserknown grapes starting to
thrive, particularly barbera
and sagrantino. Pinot grigio
is also gaining momentum.
Chardonnay is making a strong
comeback, as the region has
examples that are complex,
with loads of crisp fruit and
natural acidity.
What is your favourite summer
wine and food match?
The 2015 Angullong Fossil Hill
Sagrantino with a thick and
Juicy barbecued rib-eye steak,
and fresh summer salads.
Winemaker: John Hordern
What do you love most
about your region?
The unique diversity
of the terroir.
Which varietals are you
seeing thrive right now?
Chardonnay, riesling, pinot
noir and shiraz.
What would you say to
people yet to discover the
region?
If you are after style,
sophistication and finesse
in a wine, look to Orange.
What is your favourite
summer wine and food
match?
Our Highland Heritage
Riesling with freshly
shucked oysters.

Winemaker: Gerald Naef
What would you say to people
yet to discover the region?
The high elevation results in
greater UV radiation and the
grapes protect against this by
thickening their skins. Since
the flavour and colour come
from the skins, we produce
wines with these naturally
enhanced elements.
What is your favourite summer
wine and food match?
I should probably go for
some posh food, but my true
favourite is the 2015 Patina
Rose with wood-fired pizza.
I find it difficult to match a
wine with pizza, but this rose
is absolutely perfect on a
warm summer's evening and
a crunchy crust pizza, straight
from the wood-fired oven.

PHILIP SHAW WINES
ORANGE
Winemaker: Daniel Shaw
What do you love most about
your region?
Diversity. The Orange Gl is
defined by vineyards above
600 metres. Koomooloo
Vineyard is at 900 metres and
the difference in ripening can
be four to six weeks. Orange is
one of the highest and coolest
regions in Australia, which
allows the altitude to define
varietal selection.
Which varietals are you seeing
thrive right now?
Chardonnay and pinot noir;
we have five to six clones on
Koomooloo Vineyard across
both varieties. With 30 years'
vine age, these wines are
showing incredible balance and
expression of the dirt. We only
touch where needed!

PRINTHIE WINES
ROSS HILL WINES
ORANGE
ORANGE
Winemaker: Drew Tuckwell
What do you love most about
your region?
Orange has to be one of the
most aesthetically pleasing
wine regions in the country.
Rolling green hills as far as
the eye can see in spring,
warm sunny days in summer,
remarkable flashes of colour in
autumn and the likelihood of
snow in winter make this place
a real feast for the senses. All
this culminates in a unique wine
region determined by elevation
- the only one in Australia;
cool climate viticulture and
winemaking on steroids!
What's your top summer pick
from your range?
Summer is all about white for
me. It's pretty hard to go past a
glass or two of the Swift Cuvee
NV. I can drink it any time of
year, but when the weather is
warm and the days are long,
it is really hard to beat.
Winemaker: Phil Kerney
What do you love most about
your region?
The ability to grow a wide range
of varieties well because of the
different altitudes.
Which varietals are you seeing
thrive right now?
Chardonnay, shiraz and
cabernet franc.
What would you say to people
who are yet to discover the
region's wines?
Wines from Orange are elegant
because of the cool climate.
What's your top summer
pick from your range?
The 2015 Ross Hill
Pinnacle Shiraz.
What is your favourite summer
wine and food match?
The 2015 Pinnacle Chardonnay
with natural oysters.

ROBERT STEIN
WINERY
MUOGEE
Winemaker: Jacob Stein
What do you love most about
your region?
Our flying-under-the-radar
status. Mudgee is rarely in the
spotlight, but our wine and
food has never been better, and
people are flocking to our region
to taste our latest releases. The
energy, drive and camaraderie
of our young band of wine and
food producers will lead us into
the future.
Which varietals are you seeing
thrive right now?
Alternative varietals are
forging ahead - many Italian
and Spanish alternates are
hitting the cellar doors, and the
mainstream varietals are getting
stronger. Riesling is thriving and
new vineyards on great sites
should lead to an exciting future.
