Bedford 2844 Sends Nine Boys to VEYC
Bedford 2844 sent nine boys to Virginia Elks Youth Camp for a fun
filled week of participating in light sports, canoeing down and
tubing on the Cowpasture River and swimming. Pictured above
are Mikie Switzer, Alex Richardson, R.J. Richardson, Henry Owen,
Christian Bersch-Brown, Anthony Owen, Bryson Palmer, Sam
Myers, and Cole Calkin. We had 5 "Outstanding Campers" and
four "Good Campers." All were invited to return again next year.
Each camper was given a pair of "shop safety glasses:” donated by
the VEA and they were delighted. One young
man fell asleep with the glasses still on as we
made the trip back home. This was the second
year for one of the younger boys and he
stated: “I have waited all year long for this day......Youth Camp!"
