Recipe for Fun: Optional Games to Break the Ice
Sorts and Mingle
There are two parts to this game; both parts help people introduce themselves and learn
about each other in a fun, interactive way. If time is an issue, just pick one.
Sorts:
Host will toss out two contrasting choices (for example, “Do you prefer nature or
cities?”) and everyone who chooses the first answer will move to the left side of the room, while
those who choose the second answer will move to the right side of the room. By giving “either/
or” choices, each person must move somewhere and can’t get “lost” in the crowd. Some sorts that
work well include: dogs or cats, books or movies, sweet or salty, casual or dress up, inside or outside, chocolate or vanilla, on stage or in the audience, and so on.
Mingle:
The host shouts out a category and the guests are asked to mingle around to find
others who have the same answer. Everyone with a matching answer clumps into one group as
they continue to add others. After thirty seconds to a minute, the moderator asks each group
to call out their answer (one at a time). If someone is the only one with an answer, that’s okay.
Examples of categories: your favorite place on Earth; your favorite dessert; the kind of animal you
like best; if you could have dinner with someone, who would you choose? your favorite hobby; if
you could do anything, what would it be?

Before the Party
• Choose a date, place and time (we suggest 1–2 hours)
• Make a list of invitees
• Invite twice as many as you think will come
• Invite people
• Mail, email, phone, or all
• Follow up with a personal phone call to everyone a few days before your party
• Plan refreshments/decorations/door prizes
• Watch the “Stories from Women of Faith” video on the DVD
• Customize and print event fliers for your city to give to guests
(located at http://www.womenoffaith.com/events/get-the-word-out/)
• Print sign-up sheets (on the DVD) for all the seats you’re going to sell
At the Party
• Welcome your guests; share why you’re a Group Leader and invite the women to join
your group (5 minutes)
• Play a game (sample ideas enclosed) (5–10 minutes)
• Have someone share her Women of Faith experience (3 minutes)
• Show the “Stories from Women of Faith” video on the DVD (20 minutes)
• Show the event preview video for your city
•“Over the Top” (3:00) or “Imagine” (2:40) —on the DVD
• Sign-up new group members and collect a deposit/full payment (3 minutes)
• Take photos or video throughout the party for your contest entry
After the Party
• Send follow-up emails or handwritten notes
• “Thanks for joining our group” message to those who signed up
• “Thanks for coming—it’s not too late to sign up” message to
those who did not sign up
• Enter the contest* by July 15 at womenoffaith.com/pinklemonade

Ingredients:
Pepperoni
Bread
1 can refrigerated French loaf dough 1—2 cups shredded Italian-style cheese
1 8-ounce package turkey pepperoni
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. On a large cookie sheet, roll
out French loaf into a large rectangle. On one long edge of
the dough, place cheese, pepperoni, garlic, basil, salt, and
pepper. Leaving about 2 inches of space on the edge. The
ingredients should cover about 3-4 inches. Starting with the
end of the loaf that has the ingredients, start rolling the
dough to create a long roll. In a small bowl, whisk egg
and water to create egg wash. Using a pastry brush,
spread the egg wash over the continued on other side
roll. Sprinkle with kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Slice into
pieces and serve hot.

Ingredients:
Prosciutto
Wraps
6 slices prosciutto, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper
16 basil leaves
16 toothpicks
16 ounces fresh mozzarella, cut into
1-ounce portions (about 2-inch cubes)
Season mozzarella cubes with salt and pepper. Slice each
piece of prosciutto into 3 long slices. Wrap basil leaf
around mozzarella cube. Wrap 1 slice of prosciutto
around basil. Secure with 1 toothpick. Chill for 15minutes
and serve.

Ingredients:
Peanut
Butter
Balls
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup whole oats
1/2 cup honey
1 cup instant dry milk
Mix all ingredients together in large bowl. Form into large
marble-size balls. Place in refrigerator for about 2 hours
or (this is what I do) place in freezer for about 15 min.
These are best served chilled. After these have set in either
the refrigerator or freezer, keep them in a zip-top bag in
the refrigerator.
