April 16th from 8 am until 11 am. We are looking for 40 men to serve in 2 hour shifts: Saturday afternoon for set up and Sunday morning from 6 am until 12 pm. Junior and Senior high school students, grandfathers, fathers, and sons are all appreciated. Please let the above coordinators know or sign up on the sign-up sheets at the Volunteer Ministry table. This is a great way to serve OR and meet other OR men. A PASSOVER SEDER Walk with us as we walk with Him toward Easter. All are welcome and encouraged to celebrate this unique learning and worship experience, a PASSOVER SEDER, Wednesday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. Jesus and His disciples ate this meal together as the Last Supper, now our Maundy Thursday. This is not a complete meal but a way to embrace how Passover reveals Christ. Please sign up at the table in the narthex. SUMMER MISSION TRIP TO KAZAKHSTAN Pastor Steinke has been leading youth to Kazakhstan since 2010 to participate in the ministry and mission of Saints Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Almaty, Kazakhstan as they do outreach work with youth and families. Those interested in participating this coming summer may pick up a registration packet from the Welcome Desk. The registration deadline is April 30. Pastor will hold an informational meeting to answer questions about the trip today following the 11am service. There are opportunities to raise funds for the trip through our Miller Park concessions project and OR's Mission Task Force. Mission Dates: A team from OR will leave on July 18 and join a group from Concordia Lutheran High School, Tomball, TX in Frankfurt, Germany. From there they will fly to Almaty. Another group can leave with Pastor Steinke on July 23. Participants can come back July 31 or August 4. TOSA CARES FOOD PANTRY, helping 140+ families in our area who are experiencing difficulties, will be holding a distribution of needed items on Saturday, April 29th. We are asking your help in collecting non-perishable food items, plus cleaning supplies and detergents. Please bring those items to the receptacle under the skylights at OR. We also are in need of helpers to bring those items over to Mt. Zion at 122nd and North Avenue on Friday, April 28th, and helpers to prepare the boxes for distribution beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Your help is greatly appreciated. Bach’s exciting double choir motet “Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied” (Sing to the Lord a New Song”). Plus, join us as we honor composer Paul Bouman, age 98, at our 80th anniversary concert with a performance of three of his works. Paul began his association with the Lutheran A Cappella Choir back in 1940 as a singer and later became a director. We are very pleased to have him in attendance at our Sunday concert. Volunteer Opportunities COFFEE HOUR—Many thanks to all who volunteer for Coffee Hour. Coffee hour is hosted by Mrs. Timm’s 5 year old Kindergarten class. MILLER PARK FUNDRAISER It's the time of year to sign up to volunteer for Miller Park . This summer, Pastor Steinke will be leading a youth group to Kazakhstan. Training will take place at Miller Park on Tuesday, April 11th at 6:00 p.m. AUDIO-VISUAL TEAM HAS OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE – If you are comfortable around computers and basic volume control tasks, the Our Redeemer AV Team has opportunities for YOU! Looking for men or women high school age and above to assist us with our worship services on a rotating schedule. There are opportunities to serve at 8:00 and 11:00 am, as well as occasional Wednesday evenings. Full training provided by current AV volunteers. DONATION REQUEST HOPEfest is August 12, 2017—Our Redeemer Girl Scout Troop 1788 is holding an event here for children and families less fortunate than us. Each month we will be collecting supplies for distribution at HOPEfest on August 12.
