Italian lunch at
Christ Church
Sat., May 27
St. John’s Russian Orthodox
Church in Dundaff (off Route
247) will hold its annual Mother’s Day Dinner on Sunday,
May 14, featuring BBQ chicken
and holupki (piggies). Takeouts
at 11 a.m. Dinner servings from
12 noon until sold out.
The price is $12 for adults

Join us Saturday morning on May 13 at 10 AM for
our Yoga, Hike and a Poem
event on the trail. We will be
visiting one of our favorite
spots off the trail where will
we join Tiffany Debish as she
leads us though breathing
and stretching exercises under the canopy of the spring
forest. And while we are at
it why not throw in a poem
too! All are invited to share a
favorite poem with nature as
the theme.
All are welcome to join.
It will take us around two
hours. Dress appropriately, where sturdy sneakers
or boots, bring water and
snacks, use tick and bug
spray and sunscreen!
We ask for a $5 donation
for Yoga.
The Union Dale Volunteer
Fire Co. will hold a purse bingo on Sunday, May 21, at the
Union Dale Methodist Church
Hall, at 2 p.m. The cost is $20.
No tickets sold at the door.
There will be 15 games, 50/50
raffle, and light refreshments
available for purchase. Proceeds
benefit the UDVFC. For tickets

priced good quality items
including, antiques, household items, furniture, books,
tools, toys and lots more.
Bargain hour, 12:00 – 1:00.
There will also be a bake sale
with a large variety of homemade baked goods, refreshments will also be available.
All proceeds benefit mission
outreach projects.
District Attorney Bob Klein
will join Commissioner MaryAnn Warren for her regular
monthly outreach on May
18th in Forest City. Plan on
stopping by Elegante’s, Main
Street, 1 PM to 3 PM, to share
conversation and a slice of pizza and soda.
Mr. Klein is the chief law enforcement officer for Susquehanna County. His office is
responsible for criminal complaints, Protection from Abuse
Petitions, Victim Services and
for preparing and conducting
all criminal cases scheduled
with the Court of Common
Pleas.

Bend Turnpike. Suggested donation is $20. Tickets are available at the library or from any
Friends committee member.

Bob Non
Wayne Health Services Board
in late 2016 and says he is
happy to be of service to the
community with his “experience in the financial and marketing side of business.” He
also hopes to gain knowledge
which will in turn benefit his
own employees. “Health insurance at Pleasant Mount
Welding is very important,”
he stated. “Being on the Board
gives me a better understanding of health related issues.”

On Saturday, May 20, from
1 to 4 p.m. Friends of Pleasant
Mount Public Library will hold
a Victorian Tea Party and Strip
Tease. The tea party hostesses
will serve assorted teas, traditional finger sandwiches and
desserts. Guests should bring
their own tea cup.
The featured entertainer is
The Secret Victorian Lady, Ms.
Lydia Chiappini, an artist and
art teacher. She will show up
fully dressed in an authentic Victorian costume. As she removes
each article of clothing, Ms. Chiappini will explain its history
and purpose. Before her lack of
attire reaches the point where
it offends delicate sensibilities,
Ms. Chiappini will replace her
original outfit with a completely
different one, again explaining each piece as she puts it on.
Though attending in Victorian
clothing is not required of anyone except our Secret Lady, everyone is encouraged. A prize

old..loves his
toys and
enjoys
sleeping all
day and
spending time
with his
family. He
does not like
cats..lol. He is
owned by
Mary Surridge
and Caydenz

Bob Non, president of
Pleasant Mount Welding, Inc.
in Carbondale, PA, has been
appointed to the Board of
Trustees of Wayne Health Services (WHS), a subsidiary of
the Wayne Memorial Health
Foundation. WHS owns and
operates the Stourbridge Professional Complex at Maple
Avenue and Route 6 in Honesdale, as well as the retail
store, Wayne Health Pharmacy and Medical Equipment.
Non has been the President
of Pleasant Mount Welding
since its inception in 1983.
Over the past 34 years, the
organization has grown significantly under his leadership. Non says his company
is currently the market leader
and largest fabricator of miscellaneous metals for wastewater and water treatment
plants on the East Coast and
employs over 150 people.
“The WHS Board was seeking a person who could represent the western reaches of
the service area and who had
a prior knowledge of medical
service delivery operations,”
said Robert Suhosky, chair,
Wayne Health Services Board
of Trustees. “Bob, with his
prior service on the Marian
Community Hospital Board
and his outstanding entrepreneurial success in building a
very successful company, was
the prime candidate. We are
so fortunate that he agreed to
invest his time in the Wayne
Health Services system.”
Born in Carbondale and
raised on a family farm in
Pleasant Mount, PA, Non
graduated from Forest City
Regional High School and
Lackawanna County Vocational-Technical School where
he completed a three-year
course in welding. He attended Penn State University
to study courses specifically
to enrich his background in
business development including accounting, marketing, engineering and mathematics. He has served as the
Treasurer of the Carbondale
Technology Transfer Center
for more than 10 years. Bob
is happily married to his wife
Sue and has two wonderful
children Brandon and Brianna.
