Small White Maltese Dogs Available for Adoption Maltese are a small “Toy” breed. They are bred to be affectionate companion dogs and have little or no shedding. They are lively and playful even in their senior years. Maltese are highly affectionate, superior “lap” dogs and do very well in small apartments and homes. Maltese are a small “Toy” breed. (The photos are not of actual dogs for adoption, but dogs that look similar.) All of the precious Maltese we have for adoption are affectionate, and they are used to living with other dogs. They come from a loving home who now needs to find a new place for them. Their owner has passed away, and these babies need a new family! They are full-blooded with no registration paperwork. Each Maltese received: Veterinary Well Pet check-up; spay or neuter; microchip; teeth cleaning; most had teeth extracted; rabies and DHPP vaccinations; all were tested for heartworms and were “negative.” Some needed more in-depth care than others. These precious Maltese have been indoor-only, pampered pets. They are all trained to a pee pad. For the rest of their lives, each of these Maltese will need to eat premium wet food and/or a premium dry food which is softened with water or broth because of their delicate teeth. "Cory": Estimated 9 years old; Male; Neutered; 3.4 pound; Has received a teeth cleaning and had 10 teeth pulled. Cory is on antibiotics. "Tyler": Estimated 9 years old; Male; Neutered; 6.4 pounds; Has received a teeth cleaning and had 9 teeth pulled. Tyler is on antibiotics. "Alfred": Estimated 9 years old; Male; Neutered; 6.2 pounds; Has received a teeth cleaning and had 22 teeth pulled. Adoption: "Darla": Estimated 7 years old; Female; Spayed; 5 pounds; Has received a teeth cleaning and had teeth 15 pulled. Darla is on antibiotics. "Rose": Estimated 7 years old; Female; Spayed; 7 pounds; Has received a teeth cleaning and had 6 teeth pulled. Rose had to have three cancerous masses removed from her chest. Stitches need to be removed by Dr. Sauer between July 14 and July 17. It is recommended that Rose have further exploratory care to determine if she has cancer that has possibly spread. She also had Pyometra (infection in the uterus) which will be eliminated by antibiotics she is on now. She will need her stitches removed and get a check-up between July 14 and July 17. "Suzy Q": Estimated 7 years old; Female; She was previously spayed before we got her. She had an umbilical hernia from her previous spay which Dr. Sauer has operated on and corrected for her. She is on antibiotics; 6.8 pounds; She had no teeth when we got her. Suzy Q is on antibiotics. "Scarlet: Estimated 9 years old; Female; Spayed; 3.4 pounds; Has received a teeth cleaning and had teeth 22 pulled. Scarlet is on antibiotics. Adoption: "George": Estimated 9 years old; Male; Neutered; 6.4 pounds; Has received a teeth cleaning and had 8 teeth pulled; George had a retained testical that was cancerous. Dr. Sauer has operated and removed the cancerous testicle. George needs more exploratory care to find out if the cancer has spread; He is on antibiotics. Adoption: "Sam": Estimated 9 years old; Male; Neutered; 4.1 pounds; Has received a teeth cleaning. All his upper teeth were pulled and all but his bottom molar teeth were pulled. Sam is on antibiotics. "Bernard": Estimated 9 years old; Male; Neutered; 6.8 pounds; Has received a teeth cleaning and had 9 teeth pulled. Adoption: "Candy": Estimated 6 years old; Female; Spayed; 5.2 pounds; Has received a teeth cleaning and had teeth pulled. Candy has two big mammary masses and needs a mastectomy. She needs a special family and/or sponsor to pay for her mastectomy and further exploratory examinations to determine the extent of her cancer. "Ann": Estimated 7 years old; Female; Spayed; 6 pounds; Has received a teeth cleaning and had 12 teeth pulled. Ann had a mammary mass surgically removed. Stitches need to be removed by Dr. Sauer between July 14 and July 17. Ann also had Pyometra (infection of the uterus) and has been treated with antibiotics that will clear it up. This infection will not reoccur, nor is it a threat to her health at this time. Being spayed will eliminate future uterine infection.
