Summer Residence Terms and Conditions
Rent:
A. Monthly rent is calculated based on 28 nights. First month’s rent is due upon
check-in and subsequent rent payments are due 28 days following the last
payment. Any guest who fails to make payment on time will be charged the
daily rate (higher rate) for each day that they are overdue with their rent.
B. Weekly and monthly rates are available only to guests who pay the
Conference Services office at the beginning of each rent period.
D. Guests who do not pay rent on time are subject to our daily rate charges.
E. It is the responsibility of the guest to ensure rent is paid on time.
F. Rent can be paid with debit, MasterCard, Visa, AMEX or cash.
G. Rent will be charged until such a time that the room you are assigned to has
been completely vacated, you have personally returned the keys to our office
and checked-out.
H. Subletting is prohibited and having additional guests in your room is not
allowed without approval/permission from Conference Services. Failure to
comply with this will result in immediate eviction.
I. Guests are responsible for paying for their residence extensions. Summer rates
will be calculated beginning April 24th, 2017 and if transitioning back to
residence in the fall rates will be due until August 31st. This applies only to
transitioning students.
J. If a student fails to pay rent on time it will be applied to their student account.
Keys:
A. Keys that are not returned upon check out will be charged to the guest.
B. Room keys are $30 and entrance keys are $100.
Common Areas and Kitchens:
A. No personal belongings are to be left in common areas or kitchens. This
includes dishes, clothing and other belongings.
B. All food items must be labelled with Resident's name and stored in refrigerator
or cupboards. Both perishable and non-perishable food items must be well
sealed and wrapped to ensure food safety.
C. Any personal items left in the kitchens, washrooms, hallways, stairwells or
common lounges will be discarded by housekeeping.
D. When using the kitchens, appliances must never be left unattended. This
includes stove, oven, microwave or other appliances.
E. Dishes and any mess must be cleaned by the individual immediately
otherwise the individual will be charged a cleaning fee and will be banned from
using the kitchen.
F. Fridges are provided for storage of basic food items. Please discard of any
food belonging to you once it has gone bad. Loss of items stored in common
areas is not the responsibility of Conference Services or UNB. Please respect one
another and do not use food items that do not belong to you.
G. Conference Services reserves the right to close down any common area that
is not being respected.
Special Notes:
A. The final night of summer residence is August 21, 2017. Anyone not living in
academic year residence in September 2017 will be required to vacate their
room by 11:00am on August 15 2017.
B. Important notice: guests staying in Lady Beaverbrook until August 21st, may be
required to change rooms on August 15th until August 21st. We will make every
effort to allow you to stay in your room but it may be possible that you will need
to change rooms or even houses.
C. Summer Residence students staying in our Lady Beaverbrook residence must
purchase a mandatory weekly summer meal plan. If the student fails to add an
appropriate meal plan to their application they will be signed up for the smallest
plan (Any 5 meals per week) for the full length of their stay.
D. Meal Plan payment is due in full at the time of check-in and is non-refundable
E. It is an expectation that guests will conduct themselves appropriately and
with respect, and that noise levels are kept to a minimum - especially between
the hours of 10:00pm and 8:00am.
F. Smoking is prohibited in UNB Residences.
G. All rules and regulations outlined in the Resident Handbook are applicable. If
you require a copy of the handbook please visit the Residence Administration
front desk to obtain a copy.
H. Conference Services reserves the right to immediately evict any guest for
inappropriate behaviour.
I. In the case of unforeseen circumstances, Conference Services reserves the
right to gather and move the guests belongings if unable to contact the guest
after multiple attempts.
