Imagine you see a peregrine falcon trying to get a pigeon but another peregrine falcon steals the pigeon because it was diving. It takes it to its nest but the other peregrine falcon dives at 240 mph and grabs the pigeon before the other peregrine falcon eats the pigeon. Peregrine falcons are very unique birds and they are the fastest thing on earth. Meredith Norlander, a second grade teacher from ps.290, said “Peregrine falcons mostly drop there prey from 300 feet and its prey dies when it gets to the ground.” Peregrine falcons are unique birds because they're fast, and they have a sharp beak. There is this disease that is killing peregrine falcons and making them sick. In 1965 in eastern United States almost all of the peregrines died because of the disease DDT, so people should fix that because it is still going on. When peregrine falcons are trained they wear this colered band on their leg to check if there sick or if there not. When little falcons fly they go 30mph when they are a grownup they go 60mph but they go 240mph when they dive. A Very Fast Bird The Talented Peregrine Falcons When a peregrine falcon swoops down to catch its prey it goes 240 mph and 320 km/h. The peregrine falcon is the fastest living thing on earth. Once a peregrine falcon sees its prey it swoops down really fast and lets its prey fall to the ground. The peregrine falcon just eats its prey on the floor and where its prey landed. Not even a cheetah can catch up to a peregrine falcon because the cheetah is 75mph and a peregrine falcon is 240 mph people are training peregrine falcons to fly at a very young age. Before peregrine falcons spot its prey from 300 feet, its eyes zoom in to dive over 240mph. Peregrine falcons sometimes make their nests on huge skyscrapers like birch califa, empire state building and world trade center and a lot more. Peregrine falcons have very good eyesight since a peregrine falcon can soar for 5 minutes they are still faster then a pigeon. Peregrine falcons never eat their prey in the air because that damages there preys wings and they drop it from 300 feet. And its prey dies and the peregrine falcon eats its prey when it gets to the ground. The peregrine falcons are the best hunters out of all birds because it is the fastest thing alive. And it is a pretty big bird. Peregrine falcons can cut a humans finger off because its beak is so sharp. How Fierce They are Peregrine falcons are very fierce. They have very sharp beaks, sharp talons and the talons are 2 to 3 inches long. Their beaks can cut a humans finger off. If you think that you want to be near a peregrine falcon but, you should wear a special glove going up to your elbow. People train peregrine falcons so they get healthy and fast at a young age. Do you think that they are fierce? Well if you want to see one just look in the sky and you might see them because they can be anywhere except in Antarctica and cold places.
