The 15th Annual Sidney Fine Art Show, presented by the Community Arts Council of the Saanich Peninsula will be presented at
the Mary Winspear Centre, October 13 -15, 2017.
This is a juried show. The Sidney Fine Art Show is known for the exceptional quality of the original art displayed each
year. Selection is based on excellence, creativity, originality and technical achievement with an emphasis on artistic
accomplishment. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best in Show; Best Work Under Glass; Best Work on Board or Canvas; Best
3-Dimensional; Best Photograph/Photo-Based Media; Best Work Master’s Category; and the Colin Graham award for Innovation.
There will also be additional cash recognition awards. All awards will be presented at the Show Preview for artists and invited
guests, Thursday, October 12th. ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL 3:00 PM ON JULY 14, 2017.

Display Fee: Artists whose work is accepted into the Show will be required to pay $37.00 per piece. All fees go to the Show’s
production costs. Artists are charged a 20% commission on art sales, which includes all transaction fees.

•Pieces can be two or three dimensional, in any medium.
•Up to 3 pieces per artist are permitted. (Diptychs and triptychs are considered one piece and overall must be within the
maximum size dimensions for a single entry)
•Maximum size for 2-D work is 7’h x 7.5’w; for 3-D up to 10’ in height. If you are entering heavy work you must be available to
provide assistance in moving it in and out of the venue. 2-D Size should include frame.
•All artwork must be original work of the artist named on the entry form, not previously shown on Vancouver Island south of
Duncan B.C., and have been completed within the past 2 years.
•Artwork that has previously been awarded a prize in any other art show, anywhere will not be accepted.
•The Masters Category honours those outstanding artists who have won top prizes previously in two or more Sidney Fine Art
Shows.
•All artwork submitted must be available for sale, with a minimum price of $350.00. Accepted artwork is not to be sold prior to
the Show date.
•Withdrawal of any artist after successful adjudication limits the opportunity for other artists to be included.
•For Adjudication, all work must be completed and ready for display. Jurors will consider all work submitted as finished.
•Accepted work cannot be altered in any way following Adjudication.
•Class work, reproductions or copies will not be accepted.
•Computer generated work must be original.
•Limited Editions: Hand generated, digital and photographic prints, cast sculpture, etc. will be accepted only if they are original
and in limited editions of no more than 25. All such work must be identified with the total number of editions of the piece
available plus the method of producing the work. This is information for the purchaser. In addition, this must be the first time
the work has been shown and none of the editions should have been shown or sold prior to the Show.
•PLEASE – respect all artwork entered for adjudication and DO NOT BRING WORK IN WITH WET PAINT OR VARNISH.
•Security and liability: The Sidney Fine Art Show provides security on all artwork submitted. We do not take responsibility for
damage to artwork.
•If any work is in violation of any of these Submission Guidelines, it will be removed from the Show.
