Community Relations Coordinator
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Coordinates and promotes district-wide community relations and marketing programs such as
volunteers, outreach, special events, recreation and facility rentls, and coordinates all maketing
materials for the MAC Recreation District.
REPORTS TO:
Works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates all aspects of the MACRD’s marketing plan, to include soliciting and negotiating
services and sponsors, and implementing and evaluating marketing strategies.
2. Works closely with other district staff, business partners, volunteer and the general public to achieve
desired goals.
3. Tracks data, maintains databases such as websites and social media, develops reports, analyzes
data and makes recommendations.
4. Assists with print production, program guide development, media buys, website development and
upkeep, and coordinates other advertising opportunities as needed.
5. Represents the MACRD at special events and speaking engagements.
6. Develops and coordinates internal website and communications.
7. Assists with budget preparation and monitoring: adheres to budgeted revenue and expense
parameters.
8. Actively builds positive relations with the media and seeks opportunities to promote the MACRD.
9. Coordinates all aspects of the Kids Club fundraising plan, including developing, maintaining and
organizing all fundraising activities for the organization.
10. Performs special projects as assigned.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Intermediate Quicbooks, PC and MicroSoft Office software skills required, advance experience
preferred. Occasionally perform basic programming (database setup, setting system defaults, and some
software modification).
WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are primarily performed in a shared office environment while sitting at a desk or working at a
computer terminal and typically exposed to office noises and interruptions. Duties are also performed
outdoors in varied weather conditions and uneven terrain. The flow of work and character of duties
involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time. Daily precise control of fingers and
hand movements while operating computer keyboard, telephone, and standard office
equipment. Occasional dealing with distraught or difficult individuals. Must be able to stand, walk,
speak, hear sufficiently to deal effectively with the public and program staff and volunteers. Crouching,
bending, kneeling, grasping, sitting, reaching, setting-up and tearing-down activities are frequently
required. Ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 30 pounds. Regular driving between district facilities and
local community. Some evening, weekend and holiday hours are required.
PRE-REQUISITE EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred, and in the realm of communications and
marketing preferred.
• Knowledges: Public relations; the principles, theories, techniques, and training for assigned
program area; applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures for assigned area;
principles of effective supervision; business English and report preparation;
• Job Knowledge: Continuously use discretion. Frequently make decisions; use interpersonal
skills; work on a team; and provide customer service. Frequently uses independent judgment
and/or take independent action; make decisions; analyze problems. Ability to capture the
essence of a conversation and translate that into meeting minutes. Demonstrated knowledge
and use of standard office machinery.
COMPENSATION
 $2,833/per month to $3,333/per month
