Fact or fiction - Abi’s a great storyteller
Two new books out this summer from Abidemi Sanusi showcase her talent for
telling a great story – whether that’s complete fiction which masterfully picks up
on some key contemporary issues or a more subtle fictionalising of Bible text that
brings it with a bang right into the 21st century.
GOD HAS DAUGHTERS TOO
In this book Abi lets us in to the lives of 10 women from the Bible, telling their
stories in a totally fresh way. Have you ever thought how Eve might have struggled
with her dysfunctional family – with a murderer for a son? Or how Michal’s life
with David was full of disappointments? Perhaps some of the choices they faced
aren’t so different from ours. In these lively and provocative retellings of the lives of
Old Testament women, Abi links issues and choices facing all women – whichever
century they come from.
ZACK’S STORY of life, love and everything
Abi’s first novel, Kemi’s Journal, was hailed as ‘the Christian Bridget Jones’ by the
Independent on Sunday. Now the spotlight’s on Kemi’s partner. Up-and-coming
corporate lawyer Zack is ambitious – but how will he cope with the ethical
minefield of trade in diamonds with a struggling African country? He’s new to marriage,
new to fatherhood and new to Christianity. How will he and Kemi survive the maelstrom of their marriage? And how will
Zack deal with his identity crisis as he faces up to the truth of a mother who rejected him?
