Safety helmets are one of the most important
pieces of PPE to wear, protecting the head &
brain from impact trauma. A well made safety
helmet may be the critical difference between
life and death in hazardous environments.
Unfortunately, the sourcing and procurement
of imitation and counterfeit illegal PPE is
on the rise; with well established, popular
products from ethical companies being
targeted for illegal counterfeiting.
CE Marking
All items of PPE that are sold in Europe must
be approved for use under the requirements
of the PPE Directive and display the
CE mark. This informs the user that the
product conforms to a number of minimum
requirements and is safe to use as a piece of
safety equipment. The CE mark also identifies
that the product is of sufficient quality to
protect users from hazards.

What’s the risk?
The use of counterfeit, substandard and illegal
PPE is potentially life threatening. Although
the financial costs may appear smaller, this
is false economy as the human cost, risk of
site closure and large fines imposed upon
companies who source substandard PPE are
significant.
Counterfeit and illegal PPE is often made
from substandard regrind materials without
UV stabilisation or official certification at a
notified body. Although they may appear
the same as premium products they are not
fit for purpose and are more likely to fail with devastating consequences; exposing
companies to the risk of legal action.

multiple positions, logos can be pad printed in up to 6
colours (subject to logo suitability) onto the surface of
the safety helmet to provide a professional corporate
identity. Scott Safety uses pad printing technology to
brand helmets which does not peel, crack or affect the
performance and reliability of the helmet. Safety helmets
are printed within 5 days of artwork approval, subject to
stock availability.

The Interchange range offers comprehensive and CE Certified combination face protection solutions. The
complete range of helmet mounted face shield carriers uses one attachment mechanism, allowing connection
