Let’s review team builder skills: LISTEN, SHARE, HELP and ENCOURAGE Read: “ISA Express® Mountain Challenge” Read the first 4 story boxes as a class. How do you know it has a right angle and how many degrees does a right angle have? 2.1.3.B.1 Add three numbers up to three digits each When you look at three items that are 121 inches, 56 inches and 7 inches, how many inches are there when you add them all together? STORY 2 min Pass out the materials (M8). Included in the packet are PLAN pages. During this activity, students may also use any extra materials from previous activities to help build their solutions. Team Builders Badges EVALUATE & IMPROVE*: Evaluate your solution by using the toy train that is provided in the packet. Students will most likely be guided to make a tunnel, however, some students may want to build around the mountain using the materials that they have. That is okay! Although a tunnel seems like a natural choice, we encourage creativity AS YOU NOTICE THE and innovation as long as they are STUDENTS SHOWING TEAM BUILDERS BEHAVIORS, following the EDC along the way. SHARE Be sure the groups share about the solutions that they made!
